Cloud Security Engineer (Contract Position)

This Opportunity

Position Purpose:

Secure Truveta’s applications, cloud infrastructure, and critical assets from current or emerging cyber threats and exploits. Candidates must understand what matters most to Truveta’s Health Care Partners and the sensitive data Truveta is entrusted to protect.  

Responsibilities

  • Work with Security and Compliance teams to continuously review and improve the security posture of the organization
  • Assist in applying the industry recognized cyber security frameworks and tracking of security metrics and KPIs to understand security controls gaps
  • Assist in implementing security best practices for identities, endpoints, applications, data, cloud infrastructure and CI/CD deployments
  • Create or update policies, procedures, documentation and guidelines to comply with industry regulations and cloud security best practices
  • Participate in risk assessment activities to identify potential threats and mitigations to reduce the attack surface and maintain the security posture of the organization
  • Collaborate on security related projects
  • Identify potential process improvement areas and suggest enhancements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Key Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with implementing security in one or more public clouds (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Experience with cyber security frameworks, security controls and standards
  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to Computer Science, Information Security and Information Systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills capable of clearly communicating to all levels of the organization the cyber risk and remediation requirements from assessments
  • Experience with supporting compliance, e.g., HIPAA, ISO, SOC2 – is a plus.

We offer:

  • Interesting and meaningful work for every career stage
  • The hourly pay for this position is $75-$100 per hour. The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target. Pay is based on several factors including location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional compensation such as incentive pay and stock options.
