Amazon.com is looking for a Security Engineer to focus on Information Security programs at a global level. In this role, with a company-wide scope, you will work with technical and non-technical stakeholders on security compliance efforts, which include the design, build, and deployment of scalable systems that allow Amazon Consumer, Digital, and Other (CDO) system/service owners and leaders to always have an up-to-date view of the compliance state of thousands of services/systems. These automated tools will integrate with enterprise systems, store metadata of 100K+ systems/services, and streamline compliance activities using machine learning. As Amazon.com teams rapidly adopt AWS, you will have the unique opportunity to build industry-leading closed-loop compliance systems for cloud-based systems.

Key tasks include:
· Work closely with colleagues on the Engineering team to design, develop and implement tools and automation
· Participate in security compliance efforts with a massive scale
· Guide security projects (including security reviews, tool development, and creation of new security practices) with end-to-end ownership
· Integrate information security into organizational development and processes
· Ensure compliance with Information Security policy
· Establish metrics and regular reporting mechanisms for measuring compliance and security posture
· Bring innovative ideas, finding better ways of engaging our internal customers and service owners, and solving problems
· Evangelize security within Amazon.com and be an advocate for customer trust

Basic Qualifications


· Bachelor's Degree or MS in Computer Science or related field
· 5+ years of relevant security engineering experience
· 2+ years of software development experience
· In-depth understanding of technical knowledge in multiple areas of: security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security
· Solid foundation in software engineering principles
· A demonstrated ability designing detailed solutions from ambiguous definition
· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with developers
· High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
· Breadth and depth of security knowledge, and can identify and advise on risks across multiple areas

Preferred Qualifications

· Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
· 6+ years of relevant security engineering experience
· 3+ years of software development experience
· 1+ years of python scripting experience
· Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple business units
