Who you are
You are an attorney who is passionate about data privacy, privacy by design and building and maintaining a thoughtful company culture towards data privacy. You thrive on the cutting edge of a disrupted industry and excel in managing and solving complex problems at scale. Executing with a high attention to detail, you recognize that diligence is crucial to the success of a rapidly growing business. You also make quality, timely decisions that are often business-critical and this helps you build trust with key stakeholders. Serving as a partner to several senior leaders, you embody an adaptive communication style, always exceeding the needs of the business through clear explanation and development of lasting relationships through interpersonal savvy.
You have a proven track record of success and  8+ years of legal experience with data privacy and security. You are CIPP certified and comfortable with e-commerce and digital advertising. 
What the role is
In the Chief Privacy Officer role, you will  be a partner to our Chief Security Officer and accountable for compliance with all data privacy laws including compliance with an FTC Consent Order.  You will be responsible for providing counsel to our product team and marketing team on all privacy issues. 
You’ll have the unique opportunity of partnering with senior leaders across the business, providing  legal expertise and building a track record of timely, quality legal decisions and next-steps forward for a rapidly growing business. The business will rely on you to operate with integrity, trusting your guidance on a variety of matters regarding data privacy, contracts, and more.

In this role you will

  • Partner with executive leadership and serve as the subject-matter expert in data privacy, and digital advertising 
  • Be responsible for building compliant eCommerce sites for Drizly
  • Be responsible for complying with a FTC Consent Order
  • Work as a thought partner to our Chief Security Officer
  • Collaborate with our engineering, marketing, strategic partnerships, and product teams to ensure Drizly’s compliance

For Colorado-based and NYC-based roles: The salary/hourly rate range for this role is $224,000 per year - $264,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Drizly's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award, commissions, & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
