Security Engineer

SoftOne is looking for a Security Engineer to join our high caliber team.

Your contribution to the success of the team

• Analyse the company’s infrastructure, services and applications for security and data privacy issues.
• Assess the effectiveness of security controls and propose new and/or updated controls and assist in the remediation of vulnerabilities and misconfigurations.
• Conduct, investigate, review and address vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.
• Design and implement security processes that will protect the company’s infrastructure and data privacy based on principles of least privilege and need-to-know.
• Monitor, report on and assist in the remediation organizational infrastructure, services, and systems for potential security incidents.
• Investigate security best practices and remain current on known and emerging threats and vulnerabilities, assess risk and coordinate with other departments to manage these as directed by the CSO.
• Contribute to all areas of security as a team member and collaborate with IT and other departments to maintain and improve the safety of employees and the company’s security posture.
• Document work done, processes and procedures and contribute to the knowledge base.

Your Qualifications & Skills:

• BSc or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related fields.
• Proven professional experience (6+ years) in data protection, cybersecurity, network infrastructure, system administration or another related field.
• Strong knowledge of network access, identity, access management, installation, integration, and optimization of system components.
• Experience with security system design tools, methods, and techniques.
• Understanding of scripting languages (ideally PowerShell, Python).
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux (Debian or Ubuntu distributions)
• Familiarity with risk assessment tools, technologies, and methods.
• Knowledge and experience of advanced security solutions such as NGFW, WAF, NAC, IDS/IPS, Privilege Access Management, Vulnerability Management, SIEM, EDR/XDR, AV, Azure and Microsoft 365 security implementations, compliance monitoring will be considered as a plus.
• Experience with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS is an advantage.
• Professional security qualifications are an advantage.
• Excellent English oral and written skills.
• Analytical and strong problem-solving skills.
• Collaborative with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Highly motivated individual and an enthusiastic learner.
