AlertMedia is looking for a VP of Security & Compliance to oversee and manage the organization's security and compliance functions to ensure the protection of the company's assets, data, and reputation.  This leader will be responsible for AlertMedia’s overall security posture while driving solutions through influence and partnership.

Who you are:  

You are someone who thinks about all aspects of cyber security, motivated by implementing best practices, and taking the initiative to ensure that the company’s data is protected and secure. You thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment working cross-functionally with other teams and management. Zero-day vulnerabilities and phishing attacks keep you up at night. You have experience with implementing best practices into engineering environments and can identify weaknesses and propose solutions for complex environments. You are an experienced leader but still technical, and love getting involved in the details and day-to-day efforts. 

What you get to do every day: 

  • Manage, develop, communicate, and maintain the information security and protection policies and standards for the company. 
  • Guide the company in facilitating a security capability protecting the privacy of proprietary, intellectual property, personal, privileged or otherwise sensitive company information.
  • Develop oversight processes for monitoring security threats and response tactics for security breaches. 
  • Manage and direct the investigation of security incidents related to non-compliance. 
  • Lead the development and execution of security and compliance risk assessments, as well as oversee the implementation of controls to mitigate identified risks. 
  • Maintain the highest level of awareness and protection against current and potential security threats according to state and federal agencies.
  • Partner with other IT and business teams on execution of the IT security strategy.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security and compliance trends, technologies, and regulations to ensure that the company is always operating within legal and ethical boundaries.
  • Represent AlertMedia to prospective clients who audit our company for compliance.  

What you bring to the role: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar desired 
  • 8+ years of security experience, developing and leading large corporate security, risk management, and other related programs 
  • 4+ years as a security leader (VP or Director level) 
  • Familiar with large scale SaaS 
  • Experience in a customer facing role for compliance and auditing purposes
  • CISSP or CISM certification (preferred) 
  • Consistent track record of success and compliance as a Security Industry Leader 
  • Owned and managed compliance and audits 
  • Proven experience in the use of data and advance analytics in breach detection and monitoring of the security environment 
  • Background of continuous improvement using internal and industry best practices
  • Expertise in audit and assessment methodology procedures that relate to systems, applications, and information networks
