Co-op Student - IT Compliance

About the experience:  BusPatrol co-op candidates have the unique opportunity to work for the leader in school bus safety and enforcement solutions. We are transforming pupil transportation by creating a system to sustain the safety of children as they travel to and from school.  Our AI-Enabled Stop-Arm Camera School Bus Safety Program allows our community partners to make roads safer at no cost. Our Compliance department will offer guidance and mentorship for each candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Review contracts and identify key responsibilities to partners in relation to security controls and privacy compliance
• Review and understand compliance regulations, such as SOX, PCI, and Privacy
• Work on compliance requirement gathering; working with control owners to collect evidence
• Coordinate with Compliance Officer to identify and correct potential areas of non-compliance
• Work on document control and compliance, review retention commitments and identify associated risks
• Consider and communicate data retention along with privacy laws and reports as they pertain to contracts
• Build a data repository to manage and track compliance and security controls
• Actively research and seek out knowledge about new ways to solve current and foreseeable challenges
• Collaborate with other IT security and privacy professionals to provide exceptional support and problem resolution
• Support and help devise security, compliance, and privacy awareness campaigns
• Support the company's commitment to protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Student in Business Administration/Commerce with a focus on Documentation and Compliance
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to review documentations and spot inconsistencies
• Solid researching skills, ability to come up with new ideas and suggest approaches to improve processes
• Proven ability in using database and presentation tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task and manage deadlines
• Collaborate with other IT security and privacy professionals to provide exceptional support and problem resolution.
