Job Description

The Network Perimeter platforms at VISA enables a series of policy driven aggregation and centralization technologies that compromise the network primitives for least privilege network traffic flow.   Deep network design, efficient and effective product testing and placement whilst governing access and supporting the level of risk acceptable by the enterprise.

Provide centralized solutions for access request, certification, and provisioning on top of a consolidated and extensible Software Defined Network topology, including Application, Roles and Entitlement Catalog cross referential designs.
Provides roles for aggregation and best flow alongside network engineering, applications and cyber response teams to better automate the flow life cycle. 

Essential Functions

• Be at the forefront of translating complex functional and technical requirements from architecture and design constructs

• Take a hands-on role in analyzing & recommending changes in security posture best practices, lead testing and certification activities by for approved versions of hardware/software, participating in designs, design review, code review, and implementation

• Be motivated by building elegant and maintainable systems that get the job done with minimal complexity

• Be the lead engineering in developing best practices across the hardware/software lifecycle and champion continuous improvement

• Be a Lead Engineer for major network primitives NAC, Firewall, Web Application, SASE (proxy [on prem & cloud based] /Cloud Application Security Brokerage), Distributed Denial of Service [DDoS providers based and On premise) to ensure long term Architectural direction toward Zero Trust Network Designs

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience


Preferred Qualifications
- 12-15 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
- Be a deep subject matter expert with the Network Security Design & Network stack
- Have significant integration experience as a Network Designer
- Have working understanding of applied cryptography constructs
- Get extra credit for a CISSP certification (Domains knowledgeable and conversant)
- Be excellent in communication skills and empathy towards customers
- Be able to operate at an intermediate level of written and spoken communication
- Be excellent in interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Be able to present proposals to technical and business audiences
- Have analytical skills to derive and translate business level information into technical specifications and must be able to evaluate technology from a business and technical perspective
