Network & Security Engineer

The Job

Onera is looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Network & Security Engineer with a passion for technology and cyber-security concepts and with experience in running networks both in on-site and cloud environments. In this role you will interact with and contribute to help build, maintain and troubleshoot our expanding infrastructure. You will lead and independently drive Network & Security projects while also being an integral part of our IT team. Key Responsibilities - What You'll Do

You will be part of a multidisciplinary, energetic, and internationally minded scale-up team with different responsibilities including:

• Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure, together with the other IT team members
• Design, build, maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure components while ensuring high security, stability and availability
• Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and test management tools and services
• Be the driving force behind the creation of a Security Operation Center (SOC) group within the organization, that is responsible for preventing, detecting, analyzing and responding to cybersecurity incidents
• Have a “automate-everything” mindset in regards to IT processes and workflows through scripting (Bash, Python, Powershell, etc)
• Offer support to both the operations of our IT environment, as well as providing input to the development of our proprietary cloud solution
• Support the organization during ISO 27001 implementation and certification
• Act as an advisor to different teams to continuously improve the security of Onera's processes, products and services
• Keep abreast of developments in the domain of network & application security
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of clinical experts, electrical engineers, software engineers, biomedical engineers, and regulatory experts
• Operate with a proactive attitude towards security incidence response

Requirements

Your Profile - What You'll Bring

• 3+ years hands-on experience in managing on-site and cloud IT infrastructure (networks, servers, firewalls, switches, routers, SAN and VMware, etc.)
• 3+ years of experience in managing medium to large numbers of physical and VMs running Windows and Linux
• 3+ years experience in a SOC framework or security advisor role
• Strong knowledge of Jira/Confluence, Gitlab, VMware
• Familiarity with policies and procedures revolving around ISO27001 implementation
• Experience with agile development environments
• Pragmatic and self-driven
• Good communication skills in English (written and spoken)
• Positive attitude, can-do mentality, and flexibility - much needed in a scale-up!
