Cybrary is looking for a passionate, experienced instructor to create a course on MacOS Forensics. This course is for someone familiar with cybersecurity who wants to deepen their knowledge in digital forensics.
Short Description:
The objective of this course is to help learners to understand where the most critical on-disk artifacts live and how they can help further an investigation. At the conclusion of this course, students should be able to analyze Mac and iOS-specific technologies, including Spotlight, iCloud, Document Versions, FileVault, Continuity, Time Machine, and FaceTime.
Scope:
We expect this course update to contain about 4 hours of instructor content (written lessons, recorded lessons, and challenge questions), which we estimate to take about 20 hours of development time.
Level:
This course will be entry-level due to the nature of the APFS file system
As a training architect at Cybrary, you will create online training content which is available for learners to access and complete at their own pace. One of Cybrary's Course Managers will partner with you through the development process, support you with an eye for instructional design, and help you navigate and understand Cybrary's tooling. When creating a course, you are welcome to take advantage of our existing catalog of hands-on labs and practice tests to support your original content. Cybrary has a trusted vendor to help develop custom labs if needed, and a dedicated Creative team to support you with audio/video editing.
Requirements:
- Participation in a brief audition process, which allows our team to get to know your presentation style and confidence in speaking about technical topics. Audition samples include a 500-word essay and a 3-slide sample recorded lesson which should take you less than an hour to put together.
- Experience performing filesystem analysis on multiple operating systems (Mac, Linux/Unix)
- Experience with a broad array of digital forensics toolsets
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to a diverse group of stakeholders, including those without a technical background
- Ability to analyze and parse the Apple File System (APFS) by hand and recognize the specific domains of the logical file system and Apple-specific file types.
- Ability to analyze many Mac and iOS-specific technologies, including Spotlight, iCloud, Document Versions, FileVault, Continuity, Time Machine, and FaceTime
Nice-to-Haves:
- A Computer Forensics certification, such as CFCE, GCFA, or GCFE
- Technical content creation skills, such as video and audio recording and editing experience.
Deliverables:
- 4 hours of training material covering the concepts IT professionals need to perform MacOS forensics
Budget: $6,000.00
You will be asked to answer the following questions when submitting a proposal:
- Can you please tell us about your experience as a forensic analyst?
- Do you have active industry certifications? Can you please share a link to your cert(s)?
- Can you please tell us about your technical content creation skills, such as video and audio recording and editing experience?
