Job objective: Epirus is seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Engineer to join the IT and Security team. In this role you will support and champion our cyber defenses and capabilities, work to provide proactive breach prevention and keep us on the cutting edge of security in general. You will own the detection, investigation and remediation processes as well as configuration and rollouts of new platforms and policies. Working inside the IT and Security team you will provide hands-on, as well as remote assistance in both cybersecurity and IT matters. You will help drive and shape our cybersecurity programs from the ground up. You will also assist with managing our MSSPs (Managed Security Services Providers). Our ideal candidate has experience working in a SOC as well as general IT and networking skills, and a passion for both cybersecurity and all things technology.

Duties 

  • Work inside the IT & Security team providing cross-domain support on IT and Security tasks, projects, initiatives and tickets 
  • Ensure the security and accountability of our entire fleet of laptops, workstations, servers and cloud infrastructure 
  • Deploy and maintain cybersecurity platforms including endpoint security, firewalls and monitoring systems 
  • Assess security threats/risks, recommend and assist in the delivery of solutions to mitigate risks 
  • Review logs from intrusion detection and monitoring systems; conduct correlation analysis and take action accordingly 
  • Participate in the creation and administration of data security policies, procedures, and standards 
  • Assist with detection, response and remediation efforts 
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and follow-up of the security awareness and training programs 
  • Supporting security audits (vendor or client) as necessary 
  • Preparing technical documentation, reports and network/system maps as required 
  • Assist with off-boarding of employees and assets 
  • Use security monitoring tools to evaluate and improve the security of organization systems and network 

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on IT and Cybersecurity experience 
  • Experience working in a SOC (Security Operations Center) 
  • Security+ or other relevant certifications 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Azure Active Directory and MS Intune MDM 

Desired Qualifications

  • Startup experience and/or Defense/Aerospace/Military experience
  • Experience and/or interest in Information Security and Cybersecurity
  • Experience with FortiNet products
  • Experience with Tenable.sc and Tenable.io
  • Experience with NIST compliance frameworks 
  • Collaborative; capable of working across all levels of the organization
  • Organized; comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

As required by the Equal Pay Transparency Act, Epirus provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of California only, the range of starting pay for this role is: $128,000—$165,000 USD
