Job Description

API Security Expert

• Develop and maintain API blueprints, guidelines, implement best-practices and performance tuning techniques.
• Architecture alignments with security governance and infrastructure team.
• Work with product owners and developers to identify security threads and resolve security impediments.
• Work with IT leaders, product owners and developers to establish an API enablement framework.

API Technical Expert

• Work with IT leaders, product owners and developers to establish an API enablement framework.
• Develop and maintain API blueprints, guidelines, best-practices.
• Provide support to API developers by answering questions and responding to feedback.
• Create and conduct trainings to bring API expertise into the organisation
• Ensure alignment and adherence to corporate, financial and IT standards (e.g., architecture, compliance, security)
• Research and evaluate new API trends.

API Consultant

• Work with IT leaders, product owners and developers to establish an API enablement framework.
• Develop strong relationships with API providers (e.g., product teams) to understand the current impediments and enable them. 
• Develop strong relationships with API consumers (e.g., developers or development teams using the API product) to understand their needs and open demands.
• Develop concepts for API ownership, API lifecycle management and for API demand channels.
• Create and conduct trainings to bring API expertise into the organization.
• Communicate the business value of APIs and the API enablement framework to relevant stakeholders, including business and IT leaders.
• Evangelize the use of APIs in the organization to increase the adoption and consumption of API capabilities

Qualifications

• Strong Experience in IT Security
• Deep technical expertise with Web and API security standards Concepts of API like : OAuth, SAML, TLS/SSL, encryption, OWASP, Swagger, OpenAPI, JWT, Certificates etc.
• Knowledge of security infrastructure (e.g. Azure AD / ADFS, WAF, WAM, API gateways, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of API technologies such as REST, Web services, GraphQL, API management and event-driven APIs including AsyncAPI
• Experience in Programing Languages in: Python, Java, Node.js, HTML and CSS
• Sound knowledge of following Frameworks: Python framework: Flask, FastAPI, Django & Java frameworks: Java Spring Boot, MVC
• Experience with design using OPEN API and Async.
• Should have working expertise in Tools: Postman, GIT/Bit Bucket, Apache JMeter, API Gateway, OpenShift, CURL and Swagger/SoapUI And   IDE: VScode, Eclipse
• As well knowledge on Application containerization tools(CI/CD):  Docker, OpenShift, Jenkins etc.
• Experience with developing wrappers for complex API features such as encryption, encoding etc
• High availability, load balancing and failover configurations with API.
• Nice to have experience in generation of custom reports and integration with external tools like Splunk.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing
• Independent, goal-oriented and structured work
• Experience in trouble-shooting production failures. Good Problem Solving and Analytical ability. 
• Must be flexible, adaptable to change, able to work in fast paced environment, and able to meet deadlines. 
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
