Job Description

The responsibilities of the Information Security Engineer include, but are not limited to, the following:

-Develop, execute and track the performance of security measures to protect information and network infrastructure and computer systems.

-Design computer security strategy and engineer comprehensive cybersecurity architecture.

-Identify, define and document system security requirements and recommend solutions to management.

-Configure, troubleshoot and maintain security infrastructure software and hardware.

-Install software that monitors systems and networks for security breaches and intrusions. 

-Monitor systems for irregular behavior and set up preventive measures. 

-Plan, develop, implement and update company’s information security strategy.

-Educate and train staff on information system security best practices.

Qualifications

-The ideal candidate will be required to have experience in SRE, with a security based mindset

-Your experience covers a gamut of modern tools, systems and patterns which have helped you achieve automation, productivity and stability in an organization

-You have the ability to balance tactical items against long term value

-You demonstrate strong judgment across a multitude of situations and drive decision making, taking all factors into account

-You stay connected to the details while possessing the ability to see the big picture

-You have hands-on experience across various platforms and can navigate your way across a complex and rapidly changing technology landscape and stay on top of industry trends

-BS in Computer Science or Related

-2+ years experience as a SRE/Infrastructure/Security

-Experience in deploying, supporting and building infrastructure for highly distributed and scalable systems living in AWS/GCP or Azure

-Expertise in administering ElasticSearch/OpenSearch

-Expertise with IaaC (we use Terraform)

-Container experience (e.g docker)

-Scripting experience (preferable python, javascript)

-Understanding code best practices and git versioning

-Experience in explaining complex problems and solutions to people

-Experience in investigating security issues in a large distributed cloud environment

-Excellent communication and work ethic

-Able to work in the US for any employer

-Able to pass a background investigation

Additional Desired Qualifications

AWS Security tooling (AWS Config, GuardDuty, WAF/FMS, Inspector, Macie, IAM)

API Gateway, Secrets Management

Gitlab pipelines

Kubernetes knowledge and security

CIS Benchmarking experience

Security monitoring experience

Agile project management
