We’re seeking a Senior Information Security Engineer to help us secure, maintain and grow a world-class insurance buying experience. This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape and grow our security culture while focusing on the corporate side of our company. We are looking for a versatile, expert cloud security professional who loves to make an impact through cross-organizational efforts to keep The Zebra secure and aligned with various state and federal laws.

Location: 

While we are open to remote work across the contingent US, we are still in the process of establishing our company to support work in all states! We’ve recently made the shift from an in-office organization to a hybrid model and love the flexibility it allows our employees. We are set up to support employees who want to be fully remote, in-office only, and a mix of the two. Please note - we will not be supporting work based out of the following states: CA, MA, NY, NJ.

What You'll Do: 

  • Create runbooks and standard processes for monitoring and managing information security risk.
  • Create, design and document processes to support the policies and standards of the company to help reduce risk and vulnerability exposure.
  • Work with other key partners to define, design and implement security measures as needed.
  • Define requirements, help evaluate and analyze new technology to address security gaps and concerns in a cloud environment.
  • Analyze IT requirements and provide objective advice on the use of IT security requirements and controls.
  • Ensure proper DevSecOps practices are being implemented.
  • Act as a leader to secure our security posture.
  • Implement efficient security controls to help improve security posture. (e.g. WAF, DLP, SIEM, TVM, SAST/DAST, DevSecOps, etc.)
  • Know the latest with industry trends.
  • Monitor and respond to regulatory developments and industry standard processes in a timely manner.

What We're Looking For: 

As we evaluate candidates across all roles, we look for folks who have a strong sense of ownership, great communication and collaboration skills, and a dedication to continuous improvement.

  • 5+ years of experience in Security Operations/Engineering
  • Experience with DevSecOps
  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Experience with container security
  • Experience with scripting tools (e.g. Python, Node, Bash, etc.)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize contending demands
  • Expertise in writing run books, and complexity analysis
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Pride in the quality of work

Experience that will Impress the Heck Out of Us: 

  • CISSP, CCSP, CISA, CRISC, CISM, or AWS Security
  • Application security experience
  • Experience with SIEM platforms
