About the Senior Cloud Security Engineer Job:

We’re thrilled to be looking for a new Cloud Security Engineer to work on large scale high impact challenges. This role is key in enabling us to move towards a distributed Service Oriented Architecture while maintaining a strong security posture.

This is a senior role, where you'll also work as a partner to cross-functional teams, guiding those squads to build solutions with security at the forefront. As you can tell this is a pivotal role in our growth journey, needing a skilled, technically minded, passionate and critical thinking technologist.

True success in this role, is to be able to work with multiple cross-functional technical teams, including our Infrastructure/Platform and Software Engineering squads, quickly gaining their confidence and providing your expertise in designing, creating and orchestrating features and solutions that help maintain our reputation for delivering software that is reliable, trusted and secure.

Some of the specific responsibilities you'll have:

• Assess and recommend improvements to our security posture
• Analyze system traffic flows to identify opportunities for additional security hardening
• Drive security best practices across functional areas
• Collaborate, coach, and mentor Engineering team members
• Provide advice to the Engineering team on effective remediations for vulnerabilities
• Collaborate with the Security team to ensure system and data protection is fully compliant
• Enhance automated testing of security capabilities in our CI/CD pipelines
• Oversee and review third-party componentry and integrations in use
• Author support documentation for business cases
• Improve software inventory management processes

Your experience, skills and qualifications:

• Proven experience designing complex cloud and application security systems within a DevSecOps environment
• Proficiency in at least one of the following scripting languages: JavaScript, Ruby, Python, Go
• Solid understanding of application security principles and how to apply them
• Experience working with APIs, microservices, web applications, mobile applications, and real-time applications
• Experience with major public cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP
• Familiarity with security governance frameworks such as NIST, ISO27001, and OWASP
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Certification as a Cloud Security Professional

Nice to have/bonus:

• Degree or higher qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
• Additional formal training in Cyber Security
• Experience working in a fast-paced SaaS environment
