The IT Security Specialist will be responsible for developing and managing the Information Systems security. This position will recommend and develop security measures to protect information against unauthorized modification or loss. In addition, the IT Security Specialist may lead and direct the work of others on the contract alongside management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES·        Develop and manage Information Systems Security including, disaster recovery, database protection and software development·        Analyze information security systems and applications·        Recommend and develop security measures to protect against unauthorized modifications or loss·        Prevention, detection, thwarting, containment, eradication, recovery, and root cause analysis to improve and prevent recurrences and/or opportunities ·        Recommend, analyze, and deploy action to mitigate security vulnerabilities·        Assist in gathering, investigating, and analyzing security requirements, processes, and incidents·        Use of industry standards, concepts, practices, and procedures to solve system problems effectively and efficiently ·        May lead and direct the work of others on the contract·        Interact with other team members to troubleshoot, identify root cause, and provide technical support, as required·        Ensure system compatibility and interoperability and ensure that architecture meets all regulations and requirements·        Keep applicable parties advised of project issues and status·        Ensure project deliverables are complete, current, stored appropriately and in compliance, as well as on-time·        Perform a wide variety of complicated tasks·        Communicate effectively and professionally with all stakeholders·        Resolve and escalate issues in a timely fashion with the appropriate parties·        Other duties, as related to the business functions of FWG Solutions, as assigned REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONSEducation:·        Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Architecture, or other related degree requiredLicenses & Certifications:·        Field related certifications preferred Experience:·        Required minimum of six to eight years (6-8+) years of relevant professional experience in a similar position and field required·        Prior experience within a government entity preferred Skills & Abilities:·        Ability to analytically problem-solve using experience and sound judgment quickly·        Ability to be creative to problem solve and design·        Ability to quickly learn and willingness to explore independently ·        Strong organizational and collaboration skills·        Excellent teamwork, visualization, and oral presentation skills·        Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks·        Ability to organize and plan both short-term and long-term goals to accomplish tasks effectively and efficiently·        Must have the ability to interact with senior leaders within the organization·        Use of Microsoft Office software applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPointThis opportunity offers career development and growth, competitive compensation, and a robust benefits package with 4 Weeks PTO w/ rollover, 11 paid holidays, company paid events and training, and 401(k) retirement plan with company match. FWG holds multiple government contracting vehicles as a Prime Contractor to include: 8(a) Set-Aside; STARS III; GSA IT-70; Army ITES-3S; and CIO-SP3. FWG Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
