Amazon Web Services (AWS) is one of Amazon’s fastest growing businesses. It services millions of customers in more than 190 countries and powers the developers who are building the next generation of global industry leaders. AWS runs a globally distributed environment, operating at massive levels of scale. Businesses, from startups to enterprises, run their operations and applications on AWS’s multi-tenant infrastructure. Each day, millions of developers execute billions of transactions worldwide on the AWS Cloud.

Amazon External Security Services (ESS) provides customers services designed around Amazon’s internal security posture to improve their security experience. GuardDuty is a cloud intrusion detection service that detects unauthorized, malicious, or anomalous activity in a customer’s AWS environment. Macie identifies security risks in a customer’s S3 and DDB configuration. Inspector provides an overall assessment of the security posture of the system. Detective uses log data from AWS resources to build a linked set of data that enables analysts to conduct faster and more efficient security investigations. Security Hub generate a single dashboard view of current findings and recommendations from across Inspector, Macie, and GuardDuty.

One of the key concepts of the ESS service offerings is its simplicity, you just turn it on and it goes to work. These services help customers identify reconnaissance, suspicious access, stealthy discovery, attacks and changes to security critical settings.

On our ESS Praetoria team, you will help enhance these services for our isolated customer community. We are innovating new ways of improving features for our customers and developing deployment systems for rapid & efficient delivery of these products to our customers.

Specifically, we are seeking Systems & Security Engineers with a strong knowledge of operational excellence and automation to extend ESS into secure Government regions. In this role, you will enjoy working on complex software systems in a customer-centric environment and be passionate not only about building good solutions but also ensuring that the same software achieves its goals in operational reality for all our customers.

Here at AWS, we embrace our differences. We are committed to furthering our culture of inclusion. We have ten employee-led affinity groups, reaching 40,000 employees in over 190 chapters globally. We have innovative benefit offerings, and we host annual and ongoing learning experiences, including our Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon (gender diversity) conferences. Amazon’s culture of inclusion is reinforced within our 14 Leadership Principles, which remind team members to seek diverse perspectives, learn and be curious, and earn trust.
