Senior Security Operations Engineer (SOC)

The Information Security (InfoSec) organization advances the overall state of security at Rubrik through critical initiatives and coordination of large security projects. Information Security builds technologies, tools, and processes to better enable teams at Rubrik to develop secure software and protect data and systems with appropriate security controls. Information Security also develops systems to monitor and respond to attacks against our systems, provides awareness education to teams on security best practices for data protection, and ensures data sharing relationships with third parties in order to securely protect Rubrik information.

What You’ll Do:

Rubrik is seeking a Senior Security Operations Engineer who will be responsible for protecting Rubrik’s brand, customers and shareholders from known and emerging threats. The successful candidate will be technically savvy, experienced in managing and securing cloud systems and resources, focused on automation & enrichment, and results-driven.

• Develop tools, techniques and operational processes to continuously monitor AWS, GCP and Azure environments and assist in enhancing cloud security posture
• Define SOC playbooks and automate enrichment, analysis and response actions
• Analyze data from SIEM, EDR and DLP platforms and investigate and respond to advanced and emerging threats
• Design, document, test, and maintain integrations between security tools, telemetry sources, and other APIs or third party tools
• Hunt for known and unknown threats using threat intelligence data and correlate log events from various sources to identify anomalous or potentially malicious activities
• Lead security and threat response investigations in complex cases involving log analysis and forensics
• Review cyber intelligence and threat data from internal and external sources and support in developing new capabilities to analyze and respond to security events and incidents
• Participate in on-call rotation in monitoring and responding to security threats
  
  

Experience you’ll need:

• 5+ years’ experience in security operations, incident response, threat hunting, security engineering, forensics, troubleshooting, network security
• Prior experience in managing, monitoring, and securing AWS, GCP, and Azure cloud environments
• Experience in Python, Ruby, JavaScript, PowerShell, or other scripting and automation languages
• Experience in automation of routine system maintenance and activities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications:

• Requirement: US Citizenship
• Experience in virtual machine forensics in cloud environments
• Experience in automation of SOC response actions to security incidents
• Experience in network troubleshooting and investigation via PCAP and NetFlow analysis
• Proficiency in security platforms: DLP, EDR, Cloud Security monitoring, IDS/IPS, SOAR, and SIEM platforms
• Strong knowledge of Linux, Docker, Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of the cyber security threat landscape and knowledge about the most prevalent vulnerabilities, threats and attack taxonomy
• BE/BTech or MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field 
• One or more of the following certifications is preferred: GCIA, GCIH, GMON, GCFR, GCFA, GNFA, GCDA

The minimum and maximum base salaries for this role are posted below; additionally, the role is eligible for bonus potential, equity and benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the role based on U.S. location. Within the range, the salary offered will be determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.US Pay Range$168,000—$252,000 USD
