Job Description

We’re looking for a cybersecurity  professional with experience in Manufacturing Technology to join the Avery Dennison, global IT Security team.  The focus of this role is to support the evolution and advancement of the ICS/OT (Industrial Control System / Operational Technology) security program throughout the EMEA region.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and drive OT security remediation in the region by partnering with multiple functions such as; Manufacturing operations, IT Networking, IT Infrastructure and IT support.

  • Ensure cybersecutiy readiness for new OT projects, which requires moving projects from the conceptual/definition phases, to launch. Success depends on strong leadership skills (running efficient meetings, driving accountability for task completion, and working through difficult technical decisions when there is no consensus).

  • Perform manufacturing cybersecurity assessments.  Tasks include data collection, onsite audits, and coordinate and influence local manufacturing and IT teams.

  • Meet with 3rd parties to align on applicable security approaches and be accountable for the piloting and roll out of improved cybersecurity.

  • Routinely self evaluate methodologies and ask what could work better or be more effective.

  • Periodically check to validate that cybersecurity controls are being implemented in an effective and sustainable manner.

  • Understand the differences between OT and IT, take an active role in educating others and consensus building.

  • Lead or participate in architecture reviews.

  • Assist Security Operations in cybersecurity incidents investigations.

  • Participate in OT cybersecuity tabletop exercises.

  • Stay current on the latest OT security technology and trends.

  • All other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5+  years of experience in any of the following areas: OT/ICS, IT Support, Cyber Security, or a related field.

  • Working knowledge of ICS/OT systems, communication protocols (OPC, TCP/IP, Profinet, etc.).

  • Sound understanding of ICS/OT manufacturing technologies and industrial network topologies.

  • Bachelor's degree or alternate combination of education/experience that results in equivalent job knowledge.

  • Self-motivated, willing to partner with other functional areas.

  • Experience with manufacturing security intrusion detection tools; for example Armis, Claroty, and Dragos.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving background; good project management skills with ability to multitask and manage multiple activities in a multi-functional environment.

  • A desire to grow deeper Cyber Security skills and capabilities, including a willingness to complete one or more professional Cyber Security certifications (e.g GISCP, CISSP, SANS, etc)

Additional Information

Remote/Hybrid work is possible for certain countries in EMEA region, preferably within commuting distance of a major Avery Dennison facility.  Travel for this role will be approximately 10-25%, mostly within EMEA along with some global travel.
