Principal Cloud Security Engineer

As a Principal Cloud Security Engineer, you will shape and implement our cloud security strategy and controls. You will create security policies and partner with our cloud engineering to implement and enforce the policies you've written. You'll work with our detection team to write detections for our cloud environments to identify when something has gone wrong. You will build tools and automation to help secure our cloud environments in a scalable way. You will be the founding member of the cloud security team at Roblox, and you'll have a big impact on how we secure the metaverse.

You will be a part of the Information Security team and report to the Director of Product and Application Security.

You Have:

• 7+ years: of relevant professional experience.
• Experience writing and maintaining: code in at least one programming language such as Python, Golang or C#, and you want to learn new languages and technologies.
• Deep understanding: of cloud service architecture and cloud security concepts.
• Familiarity with: with container security.
• Understanding of: network security concepts and best practices, and how to enable cloud resource connectivity safely.

• Thoughtful of build vs. buy decisions: You can build solutions, but you also review what tools are available.
• Comfortable with ambiguity: You can gather data and make informed decisions when there is no clear answer.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.Annual Salary Range$315,850—$383,910 USD
