DevSecOps Engineer, Security Operations

The Challenge to Solve

The challenge is to move towards a Secure by Design culture, with DevSecOps Engineers shifting the security process left and reducing friction to help Slice security and engineering teams. We do this by focusing on using security automation, metrics and risk to guide our program, supporting our security dashboards and reporting.

The Role

You will have a hands-on technical role with a lot of scope to learn and this is ideal for someone looking to broaden their experience in DevSecOps and Application Security.  You’ll have the opportunity to work with GitHub, Datadog, AWS, Containers, Kubernetes, Terraform, as well as SAST, DAST, SCA, IaC and cloud security tools.  

You will get to evaluate emerging security technologies and own solutions to identify security issues during development and release cycles. You’ll work closely with Engineering and DevOps teams to influence product roadmaps, prioritise security issues based on risk, develop security blueprints and integrate application and cloud security technologies into our processes.

The Team

Security Operations is a growing team responsible for implementing proactive security measures across the company.  They are a hugely collaborative team and partner daily with engineers from other squads, with world class performers who value driving innovative solutions to common problems. As the team continues expanding there will be space for you to progress into a team lead and start mentoring new DevSecOps Engineers.

The Winning Recipe

We’re looking for creative, entrepreneurial DevSecOps engineers who are excited to build world-class security processes and automations. These are the core competencies this role calls for:

• 2+ years of experience in Information Security
• Experience running AppSec tooling or automating in the CI/CD pipeline
• Knowledge of technologies such as GitHub, AWS, Containers, Kubernetes, and Terraform
• Experience with OWASP vulnerabilities and their management
• Ability to write good code in Python
• An automation mind-set to enable the security and development teams to spend more time coding and less time on manual processes
• Experience with Threat Modeling or applying risk metrics to vulnerabilities is a plus

The Hiring Process
