The OpportunitySpringboard’s product has evolved significantly over the last 4 years, with the steady addition of features that give our students the direction and community they need to succeed in our courses — and beyond, in the workplace. In addition to an engaging student-facing platform, we are investing in thoughtful tools to support the mentors, career coaches and student advisors who in turn support the students. We are looking for an Information security professional to lead the security and information technology teams and will be responsible for all aspects of Information Security across Springboard including data privacy & security policies, and strategic prioritization. You will lead development, implementation and maintenance of information security infrastructure and processes that align with Springboard’s security and data privacy needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage and set the vision for the Information Security Program
  • Design the strategy and architecture for security programs that include: Audit and Compliance functions, Risk Governance, Security Policies and Procedures, Security Awareness Training, Security Information and Event Management, Incident Response Management and Business Continuity Processes
  • Develop an end-to-end understanding of all Springboard systems, tools and processes to identify areas of risk and exposure and a roadmap to remedy them
  • Ensure security architecture deliverables reflect and support business, technical, operational, and compliance objectives
  • Build out the Security function at Springboard to keep pace with the growth acceleration and industry demands
  • Develop and maintain detailed Security Architecture Plans and Designs
  • Review Threat and Vulnerability reports and create detailed Action Plans to address risks
  • Maintain awareness of IT/ Security industry trends, evaluate new solutions and techniques, as well as remain aware of emerging threats
  • Create Security Standards for Hardened Server, Workstations, and Network Components
  • Promote awareness of Information Security Best Practices and adequate representation across various functions
  • Prioritize and delegate Risk Assessment activities and ensure completion
  • Oversee newly implemented technologies and coordinate internal/external audits
  • Ensure compliance of the Information Security and Risk Management programs including external requirements.
  • Lead compliance efforts such as SOC 2 reporting.

You:

  • Technical Degree(s) in computer science, engineering or a related fieldCISSP certification, CISM is a plus
  • Up-to-date knowledge of global regulatory issues and trends in IT Security and Data Privacy
  • Strong understanding of IT Security metrics
  • Experience with creating a complete set of IT Security and Data Privacy policies, processes and procedures
  • Excellent understanding of appropriate IT controls as well as IT audit approaches
  • Excellent understanding of current technologies and approaches to ensure IT Security and protect data leveraging cloud and mobile technologies
  • Experience with one or more public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)
  • Demonstrated expertise securing public cloud accounts.
  • Built diverse teams of exceptional individuals
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to use influence as effectively as direct control
  • Past success analyzing data, drawing accurate conclusions, and adjusting strategy accordingly
  • A strong focus on doing what is right for the customer and the company
  • A collaborative nature, working with diverse teams, from business leaders to individual contributors
  • Experience creating automated solutions & eagerness to automate

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with DevOps and/or Site Reliability Engineering
  • Worked in Agile delivery teams and environment
  • Cryptography, Physical Security Systems, and Secure SDLC Methodologies
