Job Description

Your Career 

Palo Alto Networks Infosec Cloud Security Engineering team is looking for a Senior Manager, Cloud Security Engineering to focus on securing a multi-cloud infrastructure. Your team will be involved in threat analysis initiatives, Cloud Security Posture Management, and other key programs. 

Working within the Information Security organization, you will guide efforts around introducing best-of-class security tooling and practices, managing a diverse set of security engineers, and collaborating closely with key stakeholders on security initiatives across the company.

You take security seriously and strive to build low-friction solutions developed in close partnership with others. Above all, your focus is on bringing Security expertise to the table in a collaborative, humble, and practical manner. We need a creative and innovative leader, who can partner with our Product and IT teams to make their services more usable without compromising on security. 

Your Impact 

  • Manage the Cloud Security Engineering team, focusing on piloting and developing new security solutions to address critical risks
  • Implement and execute security policies at scale across all cloud environments
  • Evaluate security controls, design standards, drive changes across the organization
  • Investigate and Remediate security issues across multiple clouds at scale
  • Participate in Design Reviews for Infrastructure security changes and standards
  • Identify and drive opportunities to improve automation for code deployment, cloud configuration management, and visibility of security services
  • Provide technical supervision, career development, and mentoring to team members
  • Stay abreast of the latest security risks and disclosures
  • Define and deploy cloud policies to help define Palo Alto Networks infrastructure bumper rails
  • Collaborate with product teams and corporate engineers to prioritize and integrate larger security initiatives appropriately in infrastructure
  • Comprehend and baseline our infrastructure security stance
  • Collaborate with security leadership to define strategy, roadmap, priorities, and key metrics for the global Security Engineering team
  • Be the champion, role model of our cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team)
  • Hire, develop, and lead an inclusive, engaged, high performing team

Qualifications

Your Experience 

  • 8+ years of experience in one or more of Security Engineering, Cloud Operations, Cloud Automation, or Threat Analysis
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team of engineers
  • 4+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability, CI/CD or infrastructure engineering
  • 2+ years expertise in securing cloud computing and its related services
  • Strong experience in one or more cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Strong experience with Linux
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as GKE and hypervisor systems
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline, Gitlab, Jenkins, Artifactory, Terraform, Helm, or Cloud Custodian
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, able to collaborate and rally support
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team
  • Self-disciplined, self-managed, self-motivated and strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
  • Passionate to learn, understand, and dissect new technology stacks quickly on your own
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, equivalent training, education, and experience in information / cyber security, computer systems, IT, or equivalent military experience

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer, the starting salary (includes on-target earnings = base + on target incentives for sales roles) is expected to be between $172,800/yr to $279,500/yr. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
