What you'll do:

• Create, enhance, and maintain the documentation for the Information Security and Privacy Management System (ISPMS)
• Engage with the security, privacy, and compliance teams to ensure tools and automation meet their needs
• Perform assessments of security controls and processes to identify gaps and support the implementation of appropriate mitigations
• Audit and compliance review experience with testing practices, policy checks, and best practices
• Excellent technical and business communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
• Work with management and technical teams to review findings, plan, and validate remediation
• Must be detailed, action, solution, and result-oriented, and dedicated to continuous improvement
• Design and help implement security tools to enhance our security posture
• Oversees the implementation of network and computer security and ensures compliance with corporate cybersecurity policies and procedures
• Performs security assessments of applications and systems using vulnerability scanning and risk analysis
• Oversees and contributes to the tracking, prioritizing, and resolution of security incidents, issues, and vulnerabilities to provide a thorough post-event analysis
• Researches and evaluates cybersecurity threats and performs root cause analysis
• Responsible for the planning, design, and building of the security operation program
• Make recommendations for changes to security policies and procedures
• Develop risk mitigation plans and oversee their implementation
• Operate independently in a geographically dispersed team, while maintaining situational awareness and keeping the security and privacy team up to date
• Perform security monitoring and incident response activities across the Alation’s infrastructure, leveraging a variety of tools and techniques
• Continuously drive the implementation of automation capabilities utilizing Security Orchestration and Automated Response (SOAR) capabilities
• Creation of reports, dashboards, and metrics for Security Operations and executive reporting
• Sync and collaborate with internal and external auditors for compliance, such as FedRAMP, SOC 2, and ISO 27001

You should have:

• 4+ years of experience in Information Technology with at least 3 years of experience in information security, security risk management, controls assessment, system administration, or configuration management as appropriate for your area of GRC expertise
• Relevant BA/BS degree, a graduate degree is a plus
• A strong familiarity with ISO 27001 and SOC 2, and some familiarity with other relevant security frameworks such as NIST CSF & 800-53, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, SOC, SOX, HITRUST, HIPAA, FedRAMP, PCI, GDPR, CCPA, etc.
• Technical certifications within the area of security and/or compliance are strongly needed, especially a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Experience working remotely full-time or experience working with a geographically dispersed team
• Ability to support the company in the pacific time zone 
• Have worked with both business and technical risk and understand how to translate between the two and communicate to various levels of technical and business management
• Knowledge of, or experience working with, Cloud technologies/environments is desired
