The Penetration Tester will provide cybersecurity and information assurance expertise to the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) to ensure the reliability and operation of the nation’s critical cyber infrastructure. As a key member of that team this position will contribute testing plans, methodologies, vulnerability recommendations and results to minimize system risks.
This is a full-time, 8- month contract position with contract extension.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:·        Document and develop a test plan and methodology for each penetration test. The test plan includes pre-engagement activities, engagement, scope, goals, tools and techniques, ground rules, timeframe, resource requirements, schedule, vulnerability recommendations and results·        Develop procedures and methods to be used in each test/audit and include these procedures in each plan as well as what equipment will be used·        Perform penetration testing on assets, utilize tools and techniques to measure the feasibility of system or end user compromise·        Identify risk and goals to be accomplished·        Provide penetration test/audit reports to the government. If a CAT-1 finding is identified, an exception report is to be submitted·        Execute vulnerability testing focus areas that include Qorvo MQA SHIP-RF·        Provide asset management including IP address listing and hosting information for all assets on the network·        Conduct network-wide phishing email simulations, social engineering attack simulations and ransomware attack simulations ·        Provides and support solution planning and engineering, defining security requirements, target architecture, interoperability and integration, system testing, Verification and Validation, Modeling and Simulation, studies and analysis, post-deployment security validation (PDSV), and project risk management·        Contribute to the engineering of current and emerging cybersecurity systems, policies, and processes to enforce standards and identify vulnerabilities and capability gaps and reduce cybersecurity risk of our networks·        Enforce standards and identifies vulnerabilities and capability gaps·        Reduce cybersecurity risk of customer networks·        Other duties as related to the business functions of FWG Solutions, as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications:Education:·        Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
Licenses & Certifications:·        Ability to obtain and/or maintain a U.S. security clearance, as required·        Experienced Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), Vulnerability Assessment SME or Ethical Hacker·        Licensed Penetration Tester (LPT), preferred·        Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) preferred·        CompTIA’s PenTest+, preferred
Experience:·        Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role working for the government·        Minimum of 4 years’ experience with assessment management and penetration testing·        Knowledge and extensive experience in networking, systems management, programming and tool development, the Microsoft Windows (different variants) operating system, security analyst tools and techniques, and system design and architecture
Skills & Abilities:·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills·        High level of organizational and problem-solving skills·        Ability to work both independently and in a team environment·        Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.·        Proficiency with vulnerability assessment tools and analysis of outcomes·        Proficiency with Microsoft products
