We’re seeking a remote, Mexico-based, Managing Security Consultant to join our Mexico team. You’ll be managing an already established and highly motivated team of consultants who thrive working together in helping us build a more secure world.

Responsibilities

You are a consulting leader; you see problems -and solutions- in everything. You have the experience in security consulting to know your way around penetration testing and services. You’ve plundered apps and pillaged networks (legally, of course). You have a passion for helping build ethical hackers and understand that a successful business starts with a successful team. At this point, you may have accumulated a few disclosures, written blog posts, and given some industry talks while having experience in leading a team of security consultants delivering world-class results for various clients.

With Bishop Fox, your responsibilities will include leading teams in testing various application attack surfaces, hacking networks, and reversing software, among other areas – for both long-term client engagements as well as shorter-term needs, while staying hands-on in the tech yourself. Every day at Bishop Fox, you’ll be learning.

The Managing Security Consultant leads a small team of consultants ensuring that they deliver the highest quality security engagements while also finding fulfillment in their work. This is a working manager role that is also expected to work on and successfully deliver technical programs.

Requirements

Our wants are simple: be good at and, most importantly, love what you do. Here’s a list of the skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Penetration testing and code review
  • Vulnerability assessment
  • Intermediate to advanced English language skills
  • Possesses strong management skills with the ability to drive the team’s performance to deliver the highest quality security engagements
  • Understands business fundamentals with the ability to bring the team and their goals in alignment with company-wide business goals
  • Understanding of a people-first approach as a leader, genuinely valuing managing team's growth and development
  • Can unite a team, inspiring and motivating team members to repeatedly deliver excellent results
  • Fully embraces the company culture and values, and can share and maintain those values among current and future team members
  • Receptive of feedback from leaders as well as peers and team members
  • Willingness to continuously improve and fine-tune your managerial skillset
  • Excels at process building with a demonstrated ability to create templates, documentation, new processes, and support building
  • Ability to build trust and unity within the team
  • Can conduct vulnerability assessments including manual testing to further evaluate the security of applications
  • Strong understanding of security fundamentals and common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top Ten) in addition to more modern web app and enterprise app vulnerabilities
  • 5+ years of application-focused offensive security experience in supporting a variety of engagements with clients from a variety of industries
  • 5+ years of professional experience in the IT Field, including several years of client security consulting experience
  • Superior communication skills with the ability to mentor other team members on engagements
  • High-level offensive security certifications are preferred, such as OSCP, OSWE, OSCE, OSEE, OSWP, GPEN, GWAPT, and GXPN
  • Advanced relevant academic training is a bonus, i.e., Bachelor’s in Computer Science
