Senior Consultant or Consultant, Business Intelligence, Europe

Role Purpose

Our growing business intelligence team works closely as a trusted advisor to large corporations, financial institutions, private market investors, and law firms. We help our clients evaluate potential local partners and investments, map out and assess sources of reputation, financial crime and ESG risk, conduct investigations to help our clients respond to internal and external threats, and support them during legal disputes and litigation.

We are looking for an experienced consultant capable of working independently on corporate intelligence projects in Central and Eastern Europe. You will be responsible for scoping proposals, managing complex business intelligence projects, and producing clear, analytical and well-written reports that effectively communicate findings to clients. You will have an interest in investigative research, financial crime issues, ESG developments, and/ or politics in Germany and further afield in central and eastern Europe.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Understand and utilise a variety of open-source and proprietary public record databases to conduct comprehensive research in support of business intelligence, corporate investigations, litigation support and due diligence projects in Central and Eastern Europe.
• Identify and manage a network of sources for human intelligence requirements.
• Produce research findings in reports that are accurate, well-written and convey a narrative in English and suggest additional avenues of research.
• Participate in and lead client calls and meetings, particularly when delivering the results of the reporting, but also when scoping client requirements.
• Ensure projects are priced, structured and managed effectively to deliver on profit and within margin targets.
• Contribute to good cash flow by invoicing in a timely fashion and assisting in the invoicing and collection process.
• Support the team on business development initiatives such as attending conferences, client meetings and briefings.

Requirements

• Relevant experience in consulting, financial services, law, and/ or research-driven roles
• Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis on law, finance, business, or a similar discipline
• An understanding of German financial crime regulation and requirements, and the relevance of due diligence and investigative work to these requirements.
• Excellent German and English in verbal and written communication, with an additional European language a plus.
• Client-oriented, with the ability to understand, summarise and eloquently express complex findings in German and English in a concise and analytical way.
• A team player, who actively works together and listens to co-workers and has the ability to manage own time and that of others to meet multiple deadlines.
• A passion for learning about businesses and economics, and political and regulatory trends.
