Position Title: Security Engineer II

Location: Seattle, Washington


Position Responsibilities:

Provide frontline support for all information security related issues, such as penetration testing, network and
service configuration, advising on security policy compliance, handling data confidentiality issues, and monitoring and responding to emerging threats. Contribute to the development of Information Security policies and process. Conduct application security reviews and recommend solutions to resolve application security issues. Provide information security support during events impacting tier one customer-facing services. Identify and troubleshoot recurring issues and escalate appropriately for full resolution.

40 hours / week, 8:00am-5:00pm, Salary Range $149,282/year to $184,000/year

Basic Qualifications


Position Requirements:

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or Technology, Mathematics or a related field and one year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or Technology, Mathematics, or a related field and five years of work experience in the job offered or a related occupation as equivalent to the Master’s degree and one year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Must have one year of experience in the following skill(s): application and infrastructure information security; application of threat modeling or other risk identification techniques; knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing, source code review, configuring advanced runtime and static vulnerability testing tools and the development of exploits; using any of the following programming languages Java, C, C++,Perl, Ruby or Python; and coordinating responsibility of technical security tasks.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $135,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
