Title: Systems Cyber Engineer

Term: Full Time/Perm or Long Term Contractor

Location: San Diego, CA

Job Description

  • Lead Design and development projects, draft procedures, techniques and solutions to counter advanced cyber security threats.
  • Emphasis on
    • hardware/software/network assurance,
    • multi-level security protocols,
    • cryptographic algorithms,
    • security keys/tokens and digital forensics on multiple platforms (spacecraft/mobile/desktop etc.) and
    • multiple operating systems and kernels.
  • Comfortable documenting, communicating with leadership, making program/technical presentations, and be organization subject matter expert.
  • Provide direction to software design and technical staff and may lead a team of experienced software professionals.
  • Strong technological software background in Systems Cyber Development,
    • comfortable with Agile project techniques.
  • Must be collaborative, generate documentation, and participate in formal reviews.
  • Initiate and develop designs, procedures, techniques and solutions to counter advanced cyber security threats.
  • Subject matter expert for the
    • hardware and software engineering teams,
    • develop and implement requirements,
    • protocols, and
    • standards associated with embedded security for the design and deployment of space-based architectures.
  • Design and develop information hardened systems to ensure the security of data at rest and data in motion (internal and external transmission)
  • Support status reporting in customer’s engineering review boards and participate in technical exchange meetings and work group meetings.
  • Perform engineering analysis and technology research.
  • Apply the latest technological advancements to resolve issues and guide the resolution of software/hardware/network security challenges.
  • Generate technical reports, recommendations, and decision support presentations as required
  • Develop and manage plans for small and medium size engineering projects and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure availability of all systems.



Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.).
  • Disciplines desired include hardware (digital, mixed signal), RF, FPGA, and embedded software.
  • 10+ years of Cyber Security Engineering experience preferably in space systems.
  • Understanding of
    • DevSecOps,
    • High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor (HAIPE),
    • link encryption,
    • tactical data links (e.g., Link-16),
    • network security and cross domain solutions
  • Experience with the following:
    • hardware/software/network assurance,
    • multi-level security protocols,
    • security keys/tokens,
    • digital forensics,
    • cryptographic algorithms,
    • multiple platforms (spacecraft/mobile/desktop etc.) and
    • multiple operating systems and kernels.
  • Background in information assurance as well as system administration for various operating systems.
  • Experience with embedded software security components which ensure mission data integrity and ultimately program/mission success
  • Experience implementing Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSC)programs via MSCCP
  • Experience implementing Type-1 encryption devices into large-scale systems and infrastructure
  • Experience with the design of FPGA, ASIC, PCB, processors, security enclaves, root of trust and memory management
  • Strong technological software background in Systems Cyber development;
  • Implementation of the NIST Risk Management Framework certification and approval process Desired
  • Able to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Must be able to write presentations and articles using innovative techniques
