Lead Security Engineer

We are looking for a security engineer that will be a key member of the security engineering team at Next Insurance. The security engineer will be instrumental in ensuring the security of our cloud and product infrastructure as well as the protection of our customers' data per our security requirements.

You will play a major role in contributing to maturing the company's infrastructure security architecture and technology frameworks.

You will work hand-in-hand with our DevOps, product engineers, DataOps ,and IT teams to provide a highly secure environment supporting our products and services.

Being a cloud first company, automation, detection and monitoring are key - you will lead the design and development of secure automation practices in an agile environment to support security and compliance of the cloud infrastructure at scale, for both production and corporate security infrastructure. 

What will you do:

You will provide engineering and operational support for leading security tools, as well as deploy and run services that make full use of public cloud services.

 You will provide engineering support in the following areas:

• You will support security verticals (product, workforce, operations, and compliance)  executing the security roadmap based on Next Insurance‘s  priorities and initiatives.
• You will maintain the engineering team’s operational engagement to detect and respond to critical security service issues.
• Work with business owners and support the development and deployment of solutions aligned with the business priorities. 
• You will provide security infrastructure deployment, service maintenance, change control, support, and system resiliency.
• Achieve a deep knowledge of our product architecture and real-world usage patterns in order to gain better business insight into what solutions will deliver the best value for the team.

Skills that we are looking for:

• You have start-up DNA: You have demonstrated an ability to thrive in a dynamic start-up environment or have the DNA to do so.
• Engineering experience in driving security and compliance initiatives.
• 3 or more years of security experience in one or more of these security domains: network security, engineering, and operations.
• 2+ years of experience managing a domain or a team
• Understand security concepts in AWS cloud and familiarity with available AWS security technologies, such as Cloudtrail, GuardDuty, Config, CloudWatch, etc.
• Experience with integrating security in the CI/CD pipeline using configuration management and automation tools such as Jenkins, CloudFormation, Terraform, etc.
• Good understanding of information security architecture, mitigation of threats, and compensating controls.
