You will play an important role in the continued growth and succcess of Accela by ensuring Professional Services projects are delivered with the utmost technical integrity and adherence to known best practices.  You will be on the front lines with project teams directly influencing how customers conceptualize the Civic Platform and so you operate from the perspective of “How can I apply my technical knowledge to achieve a win-win for the customer and Accela” and “How can we help our customers achieve greater long-term sustainability and business value with our product?”.  As the lead technical resource on Accela’s most highly strategic projects, you will also play a key role in evaluating and improving upon best practices to ensure lessons learned are applied to future product development and the delivery of Accela’s packaged solutions.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES 
•    Understands the customer needs and establish the best solutions that address the technical and business requirements
•    Drives effective technical decisions and workstreams in close collaboration with Project Managers 
•    Designs with a focus on user experience
•    Works closely with Delivery Managers, Project Managers, Architects, Consultants, Partners and directly with customers to coordinate the technology solutions that meet the customer’s needs
•    Takes ownership of the solutions from end to end, including architecting, testing, documenting, packaging and publishing
•    Be the key role in the delivery of redistributable packaged solutions to be used by customers all over the world
•    Champions and implements best practices and delivery standards
•    Collaborates with project teams, enforce best practices and ensure all solutions deliver a positive user experience
•    Manages customer expectations and drive adoption of the solutions delivered
•    Conducts architecture and technical workshops
•    Works closely with Solution Architecture team to ensure key customer requirements are being considered as Accela productizes proven packaged solutions
•    Works along with Senior level Consultants.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

•    B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering with 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent work experience
•    Ability to lead customer facing sessions that result in a clear understanding of the requirements
•    Previous development experience: JavaScript, C#, Java, HTML, Oracle/SQL, Reporting
•    An understanding of UI/UIX design thinking 
•    A good understanding of the architectural principles of cloud based platforms including SaaS, multi-tenancy, multi-tiered infrastructure and application servers
•    Understanding of cloud offerings and ability to discuss cloud architectures
•    Understanding of the principles of network, application and information security
•    Ability to work in customer facing sessions that result in a clear understanding of the requirements


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

•    An understanding of enterprise application integration, data migration (ETL), business intelligence
•    Architectural and development experience of Web Services, responsive web design and mobile apps

The Technical Consultant is a critical role within the Accela Professional Services organization that leverages a software development skillset to help the project implementation teams configure, deploy and automate the Civic Application Platform for our customers.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES  

The Technical Consultant plays an important role in the continued growth and success of Accela by ensuring Professional Services projects are delivered with the highest quality and adherence to known best practices.  You will be on the front lines with project implementation teams and helping to translate the conceptualized vision of our Civic Platform into reality with your technical scripting and software development capabilities.

A strong candidate for this role will have the ability to:

  • Understand the customer needs and establish the best solutions that address the technical and business requirements
  • Drive effective technical decisions and workstreams in close collaboration with Project Manager and Business Analysts
  • Work closely with Delivery Directors, Project Managers, Architects, Consultants, Partners and directly with customers to coordinate the technology solutions that meet the customer’s needs
  • Take ownership of the solutions from end to end, including architecting, testing, documenting, packaging and publishing
  • Play a key role in the delivery of redistributable packaged solutions to be used by customers all over the world
  • Champion and implement best practices and delivery standards

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the customer and the project team
  • Manage customer expectations and drive adoption of the solutions delivered
  • Conduct architecture and technical workshops
  • Work closely with Solution Architecture team to ensure key customer requirements are being considered as Accela productizes proven packaged solutions
  • Communicate clearly in verbal and written forms
