POSITION OVERVIEW

Global Atlantic seeks an experienced compliance professional with a minimum of five years of financial services industry experience to join its Compliance Department, with a focus on anti-fraud and anti-money laundering related matters.  This individual will play a key role in addressing compliance and regulatory issues affecting Global Atlantic’s businesses.  This position will involve close collaboration with other compliance professionals, attorneys and business stakeholders across Global Atlantic, including personnel in Operations, Information Security, Technology, Treasury, HR, and other functional areas within the organization. 

 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop strategic, comprehensive programs governing anti-money laundering (AML) and fraud detection and prevention, and work closely with senior management to establish effective governance for the programs
  • Define, develop, maintain and implement internal policies, processes and controls that enable consistent, effective practices that minimize risk to the company, its policyholders and other stakeholders
  • Perform or oversee initial and periodic risk assessments/analyses related to fraud and AML, and corresponding mitigation and remediation
  • Conduct ongoing AML and fraud monitoring activities in coordination with other compliance and operational risk assessment functions
  • Oversee, develop and deliver ongoing training to the workforce in the areas of fraud prevention, AML and related topics
  • Conduct research on legal, regulatory and compliance issues as needed
  • Assist with special project work and various Legal & Compliance Department initiatives

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 5+ years of professional experience in the financial services industry
  • Knowledge and experience in AML and fraud laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of the business and regulatory regimes related to life insurance and annuity products is a plus
  • Relevant certifications such as in the fraud or AML areas, preferred but not required
  • Ability to make decisions, use independent judgment, establish priorities and work effectively on multiple initiatives concurrently
  • Ability to work across the enterprise and present complex matters to senior business leaders
  • Ability to work with a geographically dispersed team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter and highly organized individual able to work well in a deadline driven environment
