The Role and Team


This role will help build a cutting-edge security program as we develop the next phase of financial services for everyone. The person in this role will be a member of a security team within our neobanking business unit, which partners with platform and product engineers across our organization. The role is that of a hands-on engineer with the passion to solve tough Security problems within the product platform, build and deploy pipelines, and general IT processes. We are builders, first and foremost.

 

Responsibilities

  • You will develop tools and features to monitor and improve our security stance
  • You will identify security gaps in our application and infrastructure
  • You will build to automate the identification of security gaps
  • Investigate, analyze, and integrate cloud monitoring solutions within AWS
  • Assist in design and integration of CI/CD security tooling such as SAST, SCA, etc.
  • Partner with security operations team to improve their accessibility and maneuverability using devops tools
  • Assist in reviewing/editing/creating technology and security documentation
  • Assist in investigations and escalations

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience security engineering, software engineering, site reliability engineering or similar
  • Experience with one or more modern programming/scripting language such as Ruby, Python, Golang, Nodejs, or a C like language.
  • Ability to work within an agile, asynchronous team (you must be self-driven as we are remote-first)
  • Ability to build security features as a software engineer in our codebase
  • Working knowledge of source version control, build/release tools and methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Eager to learn new technologies and DevSecOps methodologies (auto-scaled cloud-native systems, serverless, observability, etc.)
  • If you aren’t a security expert, you are willing to become one with our help

Useful/Desired Skills

  • Experience with cloud systems and architectures (Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure)
  • Experience developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) using tools like Terraform
  • Development experience with Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
  • Experience with Istio
