Based in São Paulo, the Consultant will assist on the day-to-day delivery of security services to Control Risks’ clients primarily in Brazil, as well as further afield as required.

The Consultant will provide consultancy advice and training to clients, primarily in the area of security service, as well as organizing, managing and coordinating sub-contractors in the delivery of client tasks.

The successful candidate will be a proficient generalist able to scope opportunities with account managers, write and price proposals, service much of the work and assist Project Managers in invoicing and collecting payment, all while working with others in a team-based approach.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Service multiple assignments as a project team member responsible for assisting in delivery of task requirements
  • Service particularly complex or multi-faceted tasks in coordination with the Director – Security Services or other senior personnel
  • Conduct security awareness and prevention-focused training sessions
  • Work closely with consultants in the Americas and around the world on the delivery of client tasks
  • Assist in management of subcontractors
  • Attend meetings with clients and potential clients
  • Write proposals and reports for clients and potential clients
  • Manage administrative actions of the services business including contractor invoices, expenses and internal management systems.
  • Domestic and international travel, as necessary, to serve clients
  • Keep practice head regularly advised of business activity

Requirements

Knowledge and experience

  • Two to four years in private sector background, that required interacting with internal or external clients.
  • Understanding about the security services market in Brazil and South America, specifically related to protective services
  • Understanding of executive protection and security risk management methodologies
  • Basic financial literacy and understanding of business processes
  • Very strong administrative skill set
  • Previous work in a business development capacity desired

Qualifications and specialist skills

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Superior English and Portuguese written and interpersonal communications skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills and highly professional demeanor
  • Ability to deal with large volumes of information, and able to handle simultaneously requests under tight deadlines and shifting priorities
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility, total commitment and a strong team player
  • Travel as needed (up to 50% of the time)
  • Spanish-language skills desired
  • ASIS or similar certifications (CPP, PSP) desired
  • Previous military or law enforcement experience or protective details desired
