Job Description

The Cyber Security Team Lead is part of the Corporate IT Cyber Security team and is responsible for assisting in developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive information security program. This role will serve as a senior member of the Cyber team and will be responsible for reviewing cyber protections across all cyber services to ensure adequate protections are maintained and implemented. This person will be the security subject matter expert for ITW. The Cyber Security Team Lead will consult with over 200 ITW IT Business leaders on security architecture recommendations in this role.

The Cyber Security Team Lead is expected to be fully aware of the enterprise’s security goals as established by its stated policies, procedures, and guidelines and to actively work towards upholding those goals. This person will be responsible for researching and recommending new cyber security solutions and participate in creating and/or maintaining policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures. In addition, the Cyber Security Team Lead will develop and implement threat hunting procedures to protect the environment.

This position requires strong organizational and communications skills to work with a technical and non-technical audience at all levels. The applicant must also demonstrate an advanced ability to analyze, support, and resolve cybersecurity, risk, and compliance issues. This position will be part of a high-performing team delivering best-in-class IT services to the business.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the planning and design of enterprise security architecture under the direction of the IT Security Operations Manager, where appropriate.
  • Participate in the creation of enterprise security documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures) under the direction of the IT Security Operations Manager, where appropriate.
  • Perform the deployment, integration, and initial configuration of all new security solutions and of any enhancements to existing security solutions in accordance with standard best operating.
  • Develop a strong technical understanding of all ITW enterprise solutions and services with a keen eye on their security issues and challenges.
  • Recommend additional solutions or enhancements to existing cyber security services to improve overall enterprise security.
  • Maintain operational configurations of all in-place security solutions as per the established baselines.
  • Monitor all in-place security solutions for efficient and appropriate operations.
  • Respond to and, where appropriate, facilitate resolution of reported security incidents
  • Review cyber security incidents to identify themes and trends
  • Participate in Critical Incident Response Planning through testing and maintenance of our plans
  • Meet with 3rd Party Vendors to review threat factors and activities and ensure prompt, thorough follow up
  • Monitor system logs, SIEM tools and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity. Interpret such activity and make recommendations for resolution.
  • Investigate and resolve security violations by providing post-incident analysis to illuminate the issues and possible solutions
  • Develop a strong working relationship with the technical operations team to efficiently collaborate on potential security threats or incidents
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field required
  • Applicable Cyber Security certifications preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years experience working in the Information Technology field; with at least 5 years experience working in Cyber Security
  • Proven record of building collaborative cross-functional relationships
  • Experience troubleshooting systems issues
  • Outstanding Communication: ability to clearly organize and effectively convey both written and verbal information
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • High level of personal integrity, as well as the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and show an appropriate level of judgement and maturity
  • Organization and planning; ability to understand and determine priorities, effectively manage time and develop work plans in order to accomplish tasks and/or projects
  • Judgment and decision making; ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
  • Ability to work under pressure; work concurrently on multiple initiatives in different stages and pay attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to enable effective security incident and problem resolution.
  • Ability to conduct research into IT security issues and products as required.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed. Thorough and detail oriented
