Job Description

Digital Forensics and Incident Response - Office Administrator - Must be SC Eligible 

Location - Birmingham City Centre - Full Time

Salary - £20K - £25K plus benefits

The Role

To support the day to day running’s of the Digital Investigations Unit by primarily facilitating the administrative processing of incoming and outgoing cases.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Facilitating the returning of evidence and supporting documents (Exhibits, and generated materials
  • Filing and production of case files.
  • Archiving of case files.
  • Storing, retrieving and archiving information.
  • Producing research and report information.
  • Cleansing of CLIMS, monitoring of late cases list and investigating case failures.
  • Booking travel arrangements and scheduling meetings.
  • Order, store and distribute consumables for the team.
  • Dealing with telephone enquiries.
  • Dealing face-to-face with staff from other teams, customers and couriers.
  • Operating office equipment and technology, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, fax/scanner/printers and barcode tracking system.
  • Maintaining team database(s).
  • Working closely with the DIU team Leaders to achieve the above tasks, including carrying out ad hoc tasks.
  • Working closely with other departments within LGC group to maintain timely and smooth running of exhibit tasks.

Required Knowledge, Experience and Technical Skills

  • Good interpersonal and team player skills
  • Ability to manage a flexible work load with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a tidy and safe manner at all times
  • Good organisational skills
  • Excellent time management
  • Good IT skills including, as a minimum, Microsoft Office applications

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Willing/able to learn new tasks and take instructions from Team Leaders.
  • Administrative Officers work in a professional manner and exhibit behaviours expected by their Line Manager.

Due to the highly sensitive nature of the work, applicants should note that security clearance is required for this role. To gain security clearance you must have three years continuous residency in the UK. Criminal convictions may prevent you from gaining security clearance.  This role may in addition require random alcohol/drug screening.
