JumpCloud is looking for a Security Engineer focusing on building and maintaining infrastructure, software, and automation to monitor and mitigate attacks and vulnerabilities across JumpCloud products and services.
You'll be someone JumpCloudians across the company depend on and trust to respond quickly and effectively in a crunch. The outstanding communication and collaboration skills needed to work in partnership with diverse stakeholders.
Most importantly, you will become a critical member of the team responsible for ensuring JumpCloud products' integrity and keeping JumpCloud users safe. 
About the Role: As a DevSecOps Engineer in the Security Engineering Team, you will be responsible for designing and developing security solutions for protecting data deployed into the cloud. You'll lead and sustain the security vision and strategy for our deployments across infrastructure and software, leveraging JumpCloud products where applicable.

Primary Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Create and maintain infrastructure in the Security AWS account following best practices
  • Build and maintain infrastructure to support the Security Operations organization
  • Build and maintain infrastructure (including custom software and vendor integrations) to support Engineering’s Security needs (Product Security and Infrastructure Security)
  • Build and maintain Threat intelligence and detection infrastructure
  • Create policy enforcement automation

Additional Responsibilities/Opportunities for growth:

  • Depending on your skillset and interest level, the following responsibilities are available to all members of the security team:
  • Contribute to our Threat Modeling and Threat Assessment efforts
  • Partner with engineering teams to promote secure coding practices
  • Incident Response
  • Pentesting and Red Team Operations

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to design and propose solutions from high level requirements
  • Expertise in either python or golang (Strong in the other)
  • Expertise in Shell
  • In-depth knowledge of Unix and Linux
  • Expertise in cloud automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with a broad range of AWS and non-AWS cloud security technologies (e.g. VPC, IAM, AWS WAF, KMS, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience working with microservices and container-based deployments and orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, EKS, GKE, Rancher, Nomad).
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling in an AWS environment (CircleCI, TravisCI, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Amazon certifications such as AWS Operations, AWS DevOps Engineer, AWS Developer, or AWS Solutions Architect are a plus.

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual compensation range for this role, depending on individual candidate level and experience, is $160,000-$180,000, including base salary and any related bonuses or commissions.   JumpCloud provides a comprehensive benefits package, with several medical plans to choose from including a high deductible HSA plan with employer contribution, two dental plans, vision insurance, flexible spending account (FSA), employee assistance program (EAP), short- and long-term disability, life insurance and a 401k savings plan with match. Where you’ll be working/Location:JumpCloud is committed to being Remote First, meaning that you are able to work remotely within the country noted in this Job Description. For US Roles: All roles posted in United States locations do require that you be located within one of the 50 U.S. States.  Our Headquarters is in the Denver/Boulder, CO area but as a remote company, you are able to work remotely anywhere in the U.S.  If you would like to spend time in our offices in the Denver/Boulder area, you are welcome to do that as well.
