Cybersecurity Engineer

The Role 

Schonfeld is looking for a highly qualified well-rounded Cybersecurity Engineer. The Cybersecurity team is responsible for protecting and securely enabling the business. The candidate would own some of the unique technical challenges inherent in the problem and bring solid experience and perspective to the team. 

This position will be focused on developing and driving security strategies, policies/standards, ensuring the effectiveness of solutions, and providing security-focused consultative services to the organization. This individual will provide expertise and assistance to ensure the firm’s infrastructure and information assets are protected.                                                                                                                                                                                                                    

What you’ll do

This is a role where you will play a key role in safeguarding Schonfeld while contributing to various other Cybersecurity initiatives. The role will consist of performing various security engineering and architecture, but not limited to the following: 

• Remain current with new security threats and assess systems to ensure they can defend the business. 
• Research, validate and deploy solutions meeting security and business needs. 
• Assist with defining security team standards, policies, procedures, and processes. 
• Drive security efficiencies, enabling the security team members to work on more advanced tasks.  
• Perform other duties as assigned. 

What you’ll bring

What you’ll need:  

• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information assurance, MIS or related field, or equivalent.
• 4-6 years of security related experience with proven track record.
• CISSP, CISM, SANS or other Cybersecurity related certifications.
• Working knowledge of Windows, Linux and Unix.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong firmwide project management experience with a track record of delivering results.
• The ability to carry out multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to details.
• Track record of acting with integrity, taking pride in work, seeking to excel, being curious and adaptable, and communicating effectively.

We’d love if you had:  

• Experience with deploying up and maintaining the following technologies:
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure. 
  • Single Sign On/SAML 
  • Email security gateway
  • Privileged Access Management (PAM)
  • External/Internal Certificate PKI
  • Mobile Device Management (MDM)
• Banking for financial services industry experience preferred.
