Job Description

Our Melbourne-based Building and Places team are currently looking for a ICT & Security Consultant to work closely with our clients, contractors and internal stakeholders across diverse challenges in Defence, Infrastructure (Road and Rail), Aviation and Commercial Buildings project sectors.

The Role

As an ICT & Security Consultant with AECOM, you will have an interest in developing detailed design solutions and being responsible for the delivery of a range of exciting Security, Information Communications Technology and Audio-Visual projects.

In this role you can expect to;
 

  • Undertake engineering design from concept through detailed design phases for ICT Network (LAN, WAN, VoIP and Wireless), Network Security and ICT Systems.
  • Contribute to the design and documentation of IT systems, including cost plan advice for all aspects of ICT systems
  • Provide detailed coordination between ICT systems, Building Systems and audio visual systems
  • Contribute to project stakeholder engagement and project Brief confirmation and sign off.
  • Provide ICT Project Management through the lifecycle of the ICT project.
  • Coordinate the communications spatials and reticulation with the building services, architecture and structural design.
  • Coordinate enabling design provisions such as Power, Cooling and redundancy requirements.
  • Design Documentation using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Visio and AutoCAD ABS / Revit.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

As an ICT & Security Consultant in our Melbourne team, your attention to detail & ability to prioritise tasks and communicate effectively will help you to work in a multidisciplinary team to deliver the right solution, on time, every time.

You will be supported and contribute to the growth and development of the team by delivering major multidisciplinary technical projects and working with a variety of teams across diverse industry sectors.

We will also ideally be looking for some or all of the following;

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification in ICT, Security, Communications or AV related field of study.
  • Demonstrable experience in the Audio Visual and communications engineering field.
  • A strong team participation character.
  • A demonstrable understanding of other building services.
  • Proven capability in working with multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain high levels of quality and consistency of outputs.
  • Ability to work autonomously and contribute to the quality of deliverables and meeting deadlines.
  • High levels of written and oral communication.
  • A willingness to travel, from time to time, to support specific client requirements.
  • A proven consultative approach, with an ability to work with technical Engineers and non-technical project stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience or understanding of Bluebeam, Revit, Visio and AutoCAD, not essential but advantageous.
