Mission Focus: This program will provide support to maintain a responsive, flexible capability for rapid prototyping of data analytic solutions and capabilities (data integration, analysis, visualization, etc.) in support of national security mission requirements. This team will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to assure national security missions to prototype advanced data analytic capabilities continuously and rapidly to Combatant Commands, Military Services (Army, Navy, Air Force, etc.), and Special Operation Force (SOF) as a service.

Clearance: TS/SCI

Location/Flexibility: Ft. Belvoir, VA with time spent at NT Concepts HQ in Tyson’s Corner, VA. (Some telework may be an option).

Responsibilities: 

As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will provide hands-on support with an emphasis on DevSeccOps to critical customer problems in Agile Software Engineering. In addition, you will have an opportunity to work in many different and unique customer environments/domains with a wide variety of challenging work in software engineering (Data Science, Geospatial Analysis) applications, prototypes and systems.

  • Evaluate customers’ critical system/environment requirements, identify application build/deployment process improvements, and leverage DevSecOps practices for program and product improvement of data science prototypes
  • Work as an individual contributor and/or be part of one of the prototype teams developing and delivering rapid prototypes and deploying them
  • Build, administer and manage processes that introduce DevSecOps concepts such as CI/CCD pipelines, IaC for infrastructure deployment, testing, prototyping, security, automation, etc. of the advanced analytics and AI/ML prototypes
  • Treat all challenges as opportunities to learn, excel and deliver state of the art solutions to solve our diverse and unique customers’ problems
  • Maintain a strong awareness of technology trends in IT infrastructure and cloud computing to automate and facilitate the integration, delivery, and deployment of deliverables as needed by the customers
  • Execute on individual tasking which contributes to the success of larger systems in an environment that encourages autonomy
  • Effectively communicate ideas, findings, and progress – both verbal and written - to the PM, team, internal stakeholders, government sponsors, and trusted partners

Required Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of combined experience in engineering lifecycle software solutions.
  • Experience in rapid application development and Agile software development methodology (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
  • Development experience in one or more languages (e.g., Python, C#, Node.js, Bash, Terraform)
  • Experience supporting Microsoft tech stack such as SharePoint, Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL Server, etc
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, workflows, and associated tools, such as GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube, etc.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools, including batch scripts, PowerShell, Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Terraform or other similar tools
  • Experience with application containers, runtimes, and automation (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Experience with software development on both Windows and Linux platforms
  • Experience supporting advanced data analytics and ML projects
  • Basic knowledge of Networking (DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, CIDR Notation, etc.)
  • Familiarity with container vulnerability scanning and remediation
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Through understanding of DoD DevOps strategy/practices and ATO process.
  • Ability to work with a project team to ensure timely deliverable completion
  • Ability to adapt to technical change, to include a willingness to learn new technologies, processes, and tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing with Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  • Experience with virtualization and hypervisors (e.g., VMware, VirtualBox)
  • Experience with delivering infrastructure through industry best practice of Configuration Management Frameworks (CMF) and Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Thorough understanding of architecting and automating on-premises and also cloud native technologies; provisioning IaC, IaaS, or SaaS; and deploying applications

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer 
  • Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at times
