The SIE PSS & Enterprise InfoSec team reviews and presents the risk associated with a myriad of activities at SIE - including third party reviews, new or existing critical system assessments, integration proposals, and potential exceptions to our policies and standards. By presenting identified risks to the business, SIE InfoSec positions key stakeholders to make learned decisions surrounding risk acceptance when it comes to their initiatives, or to pivot to other solutions that may reduce or minimize the risk posture at SIE. The function of the SIE InfoSec team is to enable the business functions to continue to achieve their respective goals, while doing so in a manner that is in line with global information security best practices and standards. 

Responsibilities

The intern will be assisting with Third-Party Risk Assessments and tasks related to operational improvements (i.e. identifying areas in the our processes that could be optimized). They will need to be able to communicate with individuals both within and outside of the organization in a professional manner. While doing so, they will also need to be able to work with internal business applications to be able to track their assessments. In addition, it will be necessary to objectively review security questionnaires, and to be able to act the same way when interacting with clients, both internal and external. The assessment documentation will be a compilation of the entire assessment, including discovered vulnerabilities, mitigations to those vulnerabilities, business justification for usage, and more. 

Qualifications

  • Projected to graduate in 2024.

  • Experience in the Information Security field. Regularly stays abreast of current security threats or concerns in the real world.

  • Knowledge of Mac OS and Windows, LANs and Information Security Controls, exposure to project and task management tools.

  • Must possess excellent written communication skills. 

  • Should be able to work with technical and non-technical individuals alike. 

  • Ability to coordinate activities, track tasks and deliverables, and update projects in a timely manner.
