Being the cybersecurity partner of choice, protecting our digital way of life.

We have the vision of a world where each day is safer and more secure than the one before. These aren’t easy goals to accomplish – but we’re not here for easy. We’re here for better. We are a company built on the foundation of challenging and disrupting the way things are done, and we’re looking for innovators who are as committed to shaping the future of cybersecurity as we are.

We’re changing the nature of work. Palo Alto Networks is evolving to meet the needs of our employees now and in the future through FLEXWORK, our approach to how we work. From benefits to learning, location to leadership, we’ve rethought and recreated every aspect of the employee experience at Palo Alto Networks.  And because it FLEXes around each individual employee based on their individual choices, employees are empowered to push boundaries and help us all evolve, together.

Job Description

Your Career

The Security Engine group works on a wide range of languages, both in our open source cli tools (checkov, yor, AirIAM) and inside the platform. We work primarily with python, typescript and golang, and leverage AWS-native services to drive our architecture to support a growing scale and bigger payloads.

We are looking for a passionate, highly technical and collaborative engineering manager to join the Security Engine group in Bridgecrew, the code-security tool of Palo Alto Networks.

We are looking for people who are excited about new technology and architecture, about building a core part of the product and about high-performance large-scale systems. We are looking for someone who is not afraid to create / change processes to improve the way things are, while balancing important new features that are time sensitive.

Your Impact

  • You will lead the development of our Open Source tools and core parts of our Platform, making our product a one-stop-shop for tools that help developers avoid security mistakes - You will also help the team continue to grow, taking an active part in the hiring process
  • Leading a team of software developers, focusing on the product’s core
  • Working with your counterpart PM to define the scope and phases that will help to achieve the best effort vs value balance
  • Leading design review sessions, identifying technical bottlenecks and overpowering features when obstacles are discovered
  • Introducing and improving the engineering practices on the team – from planning to retrospective - from testing and ci/cd to design principles
  • Hiring the best talent for the team, as the team is expected to continue growing

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • 2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager or Team Lead
  • Have a strong technical background as a software engineer, including the ability to identify design problems and challenging technical plans
  • Collaborative, open-minded person, able to both express his views but also accept input from the PMs, other team managers and the R&D management
  • Strong English proficiency, as some of the team members are English speakers
  • Have high standards and opinions on topics such as code quality, testing and continuous delivery and enjoy working with others to raise the bar
  • Experience building on cloud-native services
  • Experience with large-scale ETL systems - advantage

Additional Information

The Team

Our engineering team is at the core of our products – connected directly to the mission of preventing cyberattacks. We are constantly innovating – challenging the way we, and the industry, think about cybersecurity. Our engineers don’t shy away from building products to solve problems no one has pursued before.

We define the industry, instead of waiting for directions. We need individuals who feel comfortable in ambiguity, excited by the prospect of a challenge, and empowered by the unknown risks facing our everyday lives that are only enabled by a secure digital environment.

Our Commitment

We’re trailblazers that dream big, take risks, and challenge cybersecurity’s status quo. It’s simple: we can’t accomplish our mission without diverse teams innovating, together.

We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations for all qualified individuals with a disability. If you require assistance or accommodation due to a disability or special need, please contact us at accommodations@paloaltonetworks.com.
