The Role
A position has now become available for a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead Tyro’s Information Security team as part of the CTO Office. As Tyro’s CISO you will be responsible for providing trusted leadership and expertise to the wider Information Security team. You will also operate as an advisor and subject matter expert to the CTO and wider executive leadership team in all items relating to Information Security and Business Continuity Management. This is a rare opportunity for you to lead and drive Tyro’s Cyber Security practice to be best in industry, enabling Tyro to achieve critical business objectives, whilst safeguarding our customers’ and the Banks critical information and data.

What you will bring

• Information Security Leadership Experience – Previous or current experience in leading enterprise scale Information Security business units consisting of technical and non-technical professionals
• Demonstrated Information Security background – Background in security assessment and reporting, privacy and data protection, identity and access management, business continuity and/or disaster recovery
• Technology experience – High technology and digital literacy. Extensive background as a leader in technology and innovation; a good working knowledge of modern technology practices (e.g public cloud computing, use of Software as a Service in an enterprise context, containerisation, data engineering and analytics)
• Knowledge of Industry Standards and Frameworks – Strong background in formulating, implementing and enhancing Information Security programs aligned to relevant industry frameworks, regulatory requirements and standards such as: CPG234, ISO27001, PCI-DSS, NIST, etc; and
• Industry knowledge – Experience in Banking and Financial Services or Payments industries
• Professional Communication Skills –The ability to convey technical information and security related language to a number of non-technical stakeholders including executive leadership and board members. They should have the ability to express the commercial impact of decisions associated with information security
