We are seeking a highly motivated DevSecOps Engineer intern to support Adaptive’s growing mission. This position will work closely with other DevSecOps engineers, software developers, project management, IT, and QA to design and implement processes and solutions integral to Adaptive’s product and technology road maps.

Learning Objectives

  • To learn industry best practices for DevSecOps engineering including DevOps, automation, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
  • To learn how to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • To learn how to work in an FDA regulated environment
  • To learn the scientific basis of Adaptive’s core technologies which drive products across biotech research, health diagnostics, and therapeutics

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Building CI/CD pipelines to build and deploy software products and tools
  • Creating and maintaining documentation related to DevSecOps activities
  • Attending and contributing to team meetings
  • Assisting in research and development projects that may involve proof-of-concept work and documentation
  • Adding automation to manual processes
  • Assisting other team members as needed with coding, testing and documentation

Position Requirements (Education, Experience, Other)

Required

  • Undergraduate in computer science or a related field, or commensurate experience
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Scripting or programming knowledge using tools like Bash and PowerShell
  • Experience working with a source control system such as git
  • Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • A thirst for knowledge and a genuine interest in the DevSecOps field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and time management skills
  • Great problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred

  • Familiarity with cloud computing like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices
  • An interest in Cybersecurity
  • Experience in the life sciences
