Intern - Cyber Security

We are looking for a passionate Security intern to join our exciting and challenging IT Team. This position is great for an aspiring cyber security professional looking to work on a day-to-day operation to gain relevant work experience.

You will perform technical and administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and efficiency of 99x’s infrastructure Security. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the IT security team by conducting vulnerability scanning, incident response procedures and general information security duties.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform vulnerability and security assessment testing
• Work closely with other departments to assess the security posture of 99x and recommend actions for improvement
• Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
• Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices
• Assist in creating best practice activities, amendments and reference manuals to provide training and guidance for users
• Provide security support to project teams, including particular access assignments following security controls & compliance

Requirements

• Undergraduate in IT Systems and Security or equivalent professional qualification
• Knowledge of IT security implementations, Information Systems audits would be an advantage
• Critical thinking skills, good knowledge of information security standards, frameworks and best practices
• Strong adaptability, work under pressure and capacity to work in fast-paced environments
• Understanding/ experience with ISO 27001, ISO 27701, ISO 22301 standards, NIST framework and CIS benchmarks
• Good knowledge of vulnerability assessment tools and methodologies
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• Competence to identify the root cause of the issue by paying attention to details
