Palo Alto Networks is seeking a motivated, forward-thinking individual to join our Unit 42 Threat Intelligence Team.  Unit 42 is responsible for tracking the tools, techniques, and procedures leveraged by cyber adversaries in order to produce high-quality, in-depth research that enables both internal and external organizations to deploy effective defenses.

Your Impact

In your role you will be responsible for developing and executing threat intelligence related development projects. You will work in one of our Threat Intelligence teams to:

  • Analyze new data and reporting related to threats and synthesize new intelligence. 

  • Support intelligence requirements from Incident Responders and others working to defend and strengthen our client’s networks.

  • Share intelligence internally and externally with key stakeholders across the cybersecurity community. 

Successful candidates will be customer-oriented, results-driven and passionate about building great products that will impact across the organization.

Opportunities:

  • Collaborate with internal engineering and product teams to establish strong relationships and develop project plans to deliver valuable intelligence.

  • Produce new research for publication on the Unit 42 Blog.

  • Technical work typically consists of scripting, detailed testing and complex security analysis.

  • Participate in working groups to problem solve and identify methods to improve or enhance existing tools, products and services.

  • Deploy defensive signatures to protect a global customer base in real time.

Qualifications

Your Experience  

  • Experience with OSINT data sources and tools to include Passive DNS, Historical WhoIs, Maltego, Netflow, OSINT Framework

  • Experience with detection signature frameworks like Snort, Suricata and Yara.

  • Experience in JavaScript and HTML

  • Knowledge in MySQL, GIT, WebAPI, SQL, SOAP, RESTful API

  • Good understanding of JSON, XML, XML schema, and related technologies

  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills

  • Thirst for exploring leading edge security technologies and the experience to analyze and resolve security issues.

  • Rising Senior

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree

Disclosure required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum compensation (includes on-target earnings = base + on target incentives for sales roles) for this role to be located in the state of Colorado. If hired in Colorado, this position starts at $89,100/yr. Depending on the position offered, restricted stock units and incentive or bonus pay may be provided as part of this compensation package.
