Application Security Tester - Database

We have an opening for a full-time, permanent Application Security Tester - Database to join our talented, dynamic team in support of a large Federal Government customer.

The positional will include the following duties:

• Perform vulnerability scanning against databases for known vulnerabilities, security misconfigurations, and compliance-related concerns
  • Scan Coordination
    • Coordinate CSOC-managed network scans with field points of contact
    • Review and verify hosts/ IPs to be scanned
    • Review and select appropriate scan policy(s)
    • Coordinate with network and team personnel
  • Scan Execution
    • Conduct initial system/ data checks upon scan initiation
    • Monitor/ coordinate/ react as required throughout the duration of the scan
    • Troubleshoot any issues that occur during the scan
    • Verify accuracy of data and conduct system checks as required upon completion of the scan
  • Develop new testing programs
  • Scan Reporting
    • Verify, update, create report templates
    • Produce reports
    • Conduct quality assurance checks of final reports
    • Distribute reports
  • Scan Troubleshooting
    • Knowledge of common ports and port scanning
    • Support Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems
    • Support coordinating and troubleshooting computer/ network connection issues
• Utilize a variety of industry standard security tools to conduct automated scans against systems
• Produce reports based on results from assessments and have the ability to explain in detail to customers, both technical and executive
• Review new vulnerabilities as they are published and develop impact assessments
• Determine risk from vulnerabilities based on availability of exploits and potential loss of information and IT services capabilities
• Produce trending and impact reports as required
• Produce statistics and assessment metrics as required
• Develop new testing programs
• Manage and maintain backend system software
• Administer existing and future infrastructure including system maintenance and management
• Manage and maintain Government owned virtual platforms (VM), operating systems, and applications
• Shall utilize the following tools as required:
• Support Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems
  • VMWare
  • AppDetective Pro
  • DBProtect
  • Nessus Scanner
  • NMAP
  • Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • IBM Cognos

Requirements

• Person performing this task shall possess two or more years of experience with Oracle, SQL, and Mongo
• Database STIG interpretation and expertise
• Strong knowledge of databases to include all versions of SQL, Oracle (including RAC), Mongo, MySQL, PostGRES, DB2
• SharePoint development
