Job Profile Summary Provide leadership and direction for the information security function. Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of information security, including access management, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, architecting both logical and hardware infrastructure, and regulatory compliance. Develop and implement business plans, policies and procedures to maintain systems, networks, databases and/or Web security. Lead the development of technical expertise across teams and platforms. Collaborates across teams and departments to develop and execute customer service strategies that enable customers to meet their company objectives within the realm of security/compliance. Responsible for adhering to company security policies and procedures and any other relevant policies and standards as directed.  Career Level Summary • Manages professional employees and/or team leads • Has accountability for the performance and results of a team within own area of specialty • Adapts functional area plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges • Decisions and problem solving are guided by processes, procedures and functional area plan; receives guidance from senior management • Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers  Critical Competencies • Business Insight: Utilizes knowledge of practices and approaches for managing the function as a viable business entity • Utilizes knowledge of the organization’s business model and operations to drive projects and analyses that support the organization’s mission • Applies advanced understanding of the policies, practices, trends and information that impact the organization and its customers to anticipate and plan for each step of a complex project • Demonstrates understanding of the financial impact of decisions/solutions to drive projects and analyses that support the organization’s mission • Systems Thinking: Takes a whole systems approach to analyze business issues and implements holistic solutions, ensuring that linkages between structure, people, process and technology are made • Facilitates collaboration with different stakeholders with varied perspectives to develop effective solutions to issues • Strives for optimum organizational efficiency by applying systems thinking across boundaries and making recommendations about policies/ processes • Takes a whole systems approach to analyze issues and implements holistic solutions by ensuring that linkages between structure, people, process and technology are made  Key Responsibilities • Other Incidental tasks related to the job, as necessary. • Manages professional employees and/or team leads to deliver technical solutions, cyber security services, deploy security related applications, manage security policy, as well as oversee and coordinate global logical security efforts across the company • Leads a group of Analyst in security incident response procedures and serves as the Security Operations Center (SOC) stakeholder in global security incidents • Accountable for the performance and results of a team within own area of specialty • Adapts operational plan to a functional plan and priorities that address resourcing and operational challenges across all varied work types • Collaborates across teams and departments to develop and execute customer security strategies that are tied to the achievement of company objectives • Drive the development and engagement of Engineers through professional development programs, tasks of increasing complexity, projects and social engagements • Provides expertise and capable of representing their product/platforms in higher level meetings, as well as with customers • Maintains and expands on expert knowledge of security intrusion methods, detection and prevention; standards, security controls, information technology and information security; pertinent law and the law enforcement community • Must have or be able to build a strong skill set on current intrusion methods and prevention • Crises Response - Provides expertise, assists in planning and creation of customer communications. Special focus on representing the concerns of customers subscribed to security services • Ensure security recommendations support quality, performance, compliance and sustainability requirements while ensuring solutions are in alignment with both Rackspace and customer defined architecture strategies and goals • Decisions and problem solving are independent, but adhere to established processes, procedures and functional area plans; receives guidance from senior management • Focus on continuous improvement to the operation, technical standards, process and the customer experience • Own/drive/lead transformational projects sanctioned at the department/functional level across teams and shifts to enhance or ensure consistency, quality, speed of service, security, policy adherence and architectural integrity • Participate in transformative projects at the organizational level  Knowledge • Strong knowledge of the principles of customer service management and delivery • Knowledge of all facets of customer retention (CRM) • Expert knowledge in the methods and principles of finding resolution to customer concerns and developing a customer contact strategy • Specialist knowledge in support of Rackspace standards • Applies understanding of the business and how own area integrates with others to achieve functional area objectives • Expert knowledge in analyzing operational processes, escalation procedures and performing training needs assessments for identifying opportunities for service delivery improvements. Expert knowledge in developing customer service department procedures  Skills • Ability to communicate effectively across levels verbally, in writing, and in presentations • Exceptional people skills with the ability to engage and motivate subordinates and peers • Ability to adjust to multiple demands, changing priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change, while multitasking effectively. • Ability to coordinate multiple teams in accomplishing process review and improvement. • Demonstrated ability in project management and change management. • Demonstrated ability to develop metrics, perform critical analysis and develop executive decision support content. • Ability to align security with technology transformation to a business outcome. • Comfortable to engage around business process aspects.  Education • Required • Bachelor's Degree in business or technology related field. • At the Manager's discretion, 4 years of additional related experience may substitute for the degree requirement; if substitution allowed, regional equivalent to High School Diploma is required  • Preferred • Rackspace Emerging Leaders or other leadership development program  Experience • 7 - 9 years of relevant work experience of progressively responsible network security, cyber security, or a related field to specialty which will be led • Experience indirectly leading teams or guiding less experienced resources • Demonstrated ownership in some leadership tasks or progressive development through leadership training is desired Physical Demands General office environment: no special physical demands required. May require long periods of sitting and viewing a computer monitor.
