Cyber Hygiene Specialist

Job location: This is a remote position for all locations across Canada with the exception of Ottawa. Anyone based in Ottawa will be expected to work in a Hybrid model.

About the team

The Cyber Hygiene Specialist is responsible for identifying, coordinating, and implementing measures to protect the health and security of users, devices, networks and data across Kinaxis.  This individual develops and monitors policies and remediation work, describes appropriate prioritization, and ensures best practices.  In general, this individual maintains peak efficiency of the cybersecurity platform through reduction of fragmentation, updating systems, and harmonizing practices protecting assets.
This role will report to the Senior Director, Global Information Security.  The Global Information Security team is responsible for all security related handling for Kinaxis Corporate and Kinaxis RapidResponse Software-as-a-Service.

What you will do

  • Organize the implementation of processes controls across Kinaxis used to protect data
  • Harmonize applications of policy across the organization’s many teams
  • Conduct cybersecurity awareness and education activities
  • Monitor the application of least-privileges access rights across ecosystems.
  • Confirm and maintain standardized secure configurations on IT networks
  • Coordinate consistent maintenance of hardware, software, services, polices and controls.
  • Identify information security risks at the process level, at each stage of deployment, and proactively work to ensure that risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated across the business.

What we are looking for

  • Batchelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Management Systems, or comparable.
  • Technical skills relevant to policy management, cloud security architecture, vulnerability and threat management.
  • 4+ years of progressive work experience, with at least two year’ experience in Information Security Auditing or IS policy, IT development or maintenance, and IT Life cycle management (SDLC or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of data centre and public cloud environments.
  • Analytical and detail oriented
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • CISA, CISSP, CCSP, other IT security certifications is an asset
  • Familiarity with Information Security industry standards/best practices and relevant regulations (e.g. some of SSAE16, SOC 2, C5, PCI DSS, HIPAA, GLBA, FISMA, NIST, ISO27000, CobiT, ISF, OWASP, SAN, ITIL, ATT&CK)
