Job summary
As an AWS SOC Data Center Services Support Engineer in the AWS Security Operations Center (SOC), you will provide the last layer of security configuration support needed to enable seamless AWS operations and business growth. Every task you complete directly enables new business, raises the physical security bar, or drives security innovations in AWS Data Centers.

Key job responsibilities
What you’ll do (a day in the life)

• Answer incoming calls and chats for services from our data center partners
• Configure logical security constructs including user accounts, access levels, and permissions groups
• Utilize sound judgement to assess anomalies encountered during standard procedures and escalate accordingly
• Work as a catalyst to bring together diverse teams to address findings or issues prior to business leader takeover
• Produce reports, white papers, narratives, and data visualizations and present to AWS leadership
• Work closely with other internal Amazon teams to resolve issues related to AWS’ physical security posture
• Communicate quickly and effectively, both written and verbally, while executing technical tasks or functions
• Identify and implement solutions to continuously improve existing processes
• Multitask in a fast-paced environment with unlimited growth potential
• Working knowledge of operating systems, office suites, run-books, and spreadsheets
• Ability to rapidly learn and utilize new technologies, tools, and systems

Basic Qualifications


• 3+ years of experience working in fast paced environments, and ability manage workload even during times of stress or escalated activity.
• 3+ years of experience supporting an operations center, enterprise systems, or customer facing IT role
• Ability to work weekends, and holidays as well as participate in an on-call rotation

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience demonstrating multitasking skills including the ability to answer multiple calls and prioritize emails, instant messaging and ticket related communications.
• 3+ years of experience working in fast paced environments with the ability to manage workloads when handling high severity incident responses.
• Experience with configuring and modifying access control systems (ex: Lenel, Multi-Max, C-Cure, Honeywell, etc.)
• Extensive knowledge of security technology, risk assessment methodologies, policies, and processes.
• Ability to independently collect, research, and analyze threat related information from a variety of sources to identify and evaluate risks, patterns and trends.
• Experience using automation to solve problems and reduce repetitive tasks.
• Experience engaging in project management, tracking timelines, and participating in planning and executing tasks within project milestones.
