The Information Security Specialist will help execute the internal information security strategy for the organization. This role will be involved in various aspects of the security and compliance program including contract reviews, risk assessments, policy / procedure development and maintenance, control implementation, internal assessments, security awareness, vendor management, etc.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

•  Perform Contract reviews, both customer and supplier, from a security standpoint;
•  Assist in responding to Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs);
•  Develop and update information security policies and procedures;
•  Drive internal control alignment and implementation based on industry standards and regulatory requirements;
•  Perform security risk assessments and develop recommendations to address risk;
•  Provide control remediation direction for identified areas of deficiency or non-compliance;
•  Develop and maintain relevant security risk metrics;
•  Respond to customer inquiries and audits of GuidePoint's security program;
•  Ensure GuidePoint's vendors align with required controls and standards; and
•  Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience Required: 

•  Undergraduate degree in cybersecurity/computer science and five years of work experience, or eight or more years of work experience in Information Security
•  Experience with industry standard frameworks (i.e., NIST, ISO, etc.)
•  Experience with regulatory requirements (i.e., PCI; GDPR; HIPAA; NYDFS; etc.)
•  Policy / procedure development security and privacy control design and implementation
•  Experience with third party vendor management
•  Demonstrated experience across information security domains
•  Excellent organization skills and self-motivated

Preferred Qualifications:
•  CISA, CISM, and/or CISSP certifications
•  Experience working with Jira, Confluence, and other Atlassian products
